We're tracking all the best and latest Labor Day mattress sales as they land, bringing you an expert-curated guide to all the sleep deals you should browse in one of the biggest sales of the year.

Our deals experts have been paying close attention to the Labor Day mattress sales and we've noticed two big trends: now's a great time to invest in luxury for less, with deals from premium mattress brands such as Saatva and Tempur-Pedic. And, conversely, it's a good opportunity to pick up a budget bed from a third-party retailer (such as Amazon and Walmart.)

While we suspect most of the deals on the best mattresses of 2025 have started, there are still Labor Day offers rolling in — Westin just dropped 20% off one of our favorite luxury mattresses and we're tracking all the latest Labor Day mattress deals live. Read on for our top picks of the deals.

It's our favorite Labor Day mattress sale and trust us, we've looked at a lot of mattress deals in the past few weeks. We're in the midst of retesting the Classic for our DreamCloud mattress review and it's impressing us with its full-body support and soothing pressure relief, although the motion isolation is a slight weak point. We think this is the best mattress you can buy online when it comes to value and in the current sale, the offer is even better than Black Friday.

5. Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud Mattress (queen): was $1,999 now $1,399.30 at Tempur-Pedic
The most affordable mattress in the Tempur-Pedic line-up, the Tempur-Cloud delivers plenty of that body-hugging comfort we've come to expect from a Tempur-Pedic bed. It doesn't have the level of luxury we'd want from the pricier Tempur-Pedic beds (and we found overheating to be an issue in our Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud mattress review) but with 30% off, it's the cheapest way to experience the unique Tempur-Pedic feel. For an even bigger discount and a full bed upgrade, you can save 40% on the Tempur-Cloud when you buy it with an Ease Adjustable Power base — a queen combo is $2,198.40 (was $2,998) at Tempur-Pedic.

6. Westin Heavenly Bed Mattress (queen): was $2,495 now $1,996 at Shop Marriott
Since Westin proved visitors do prioritize sleep by introducing its Heavenly Bed, you can expect to find some of the world's greatest beds among the mattresses used in hotels. The Heavenly Bed still rates among the best, as our tester discovered when she got hands-on in a Westin Hotel — we highly recommend it to side sleepers. There's currently 20% off at Westin, reducing a king size to $2,276 from $2,845 (it's the bigger the better when it comes to hotel bed sizes.) We have seen up to 30% off before but since then Westin has revamped its store, so we can't predict if this mega deal will return.

Bear's affordable all-foam mattress was described as a "crowd pleaser" in our Bear Original mattress review — the medium-firm feel makes it a match for most sleep styles. We did note it can sleep a little warm, so consider upgrading with the Celliant mattress cover if you often wake up from night sweats. Heat-wicking Celliant fabric might be a pricey upgrade but there's rarely a better time to buy; you can enjoy a massive 40% off with code TOMS40, reducing a queen with upgraded cover to just $693 (was $1,155.) And Bear's throwing in a free bedding bundle, as the cherry on top.

1. NapQueen Margaret 8” Mattress (queen): was $209 now $159.99 at Walmart
Walmart’s Rollback offers continue rolling in with this mega deal on the NapQueen Margaret mattress. A twin is on sale for just $84.98 (was $149.99), an incredibly low price for an 8-inch mattress. You can also save over $100 on a king, now only $224 (was $329). The high-density memory foam features a charcoal infusion, which NapQueen claims can "absorb and neutralize odors." We doubt the charcoal has much of an impact (you'll need to keep up with your regular mattress cleaning) but the medium-firm feel should suit stomach sleepers and the low-cost bed is perfect for guest rooms.

If you're shopping for a dorm bed, this is a budget-friendly choice. In our Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress review, we awarded 3.5 out of five stars and after testing, we found this mattress was best suited for side sleepers; the softer foam cushions the shoulders and hips to soothe aches and pains.

In our Siena Premier Hybrid Mattress review we described this bed as: "a serious contender to DreamCloud's budget throne" (take a look below to learn why that's such high praise.) It has excellent support but side sleepers might find it lacks cushioning (the DreamCloud is better in this regard.) With a queen only $424 at Siena — and a twin just $254 — this is a competitively priced hybrid. 7. Westin Heavenly Bed Mattress (queen): was $2,495 now $1,996 at Shop Marriott
Used in Westin hotels around the world, the Heavenly Bed is designed to deliver comfort for every guest. It achieves this through the use of a spring base (for support) and a quilted cushion top (for pressure relief) creating what Westin describes as "your personal sleep sanctuary" — we found it best for side sleepers. With 20% off all sizes you can recreate hotel comfort with a king Heavenly Bed for just $2,276 (was $2,845.) Westin has offered 30% off before but after a recent website redesign we're not sure that discount will return. 8. Purple Rejuvenate Mattress (queen): was $4,999 now $4,499 at Purple
Purple mattresses are known for their unique GelFlex Grid, a flexible layer of Hyper-Polymer Elastic that cradles the body to ease aches and pains. The Rejuvenate is soft where you need comfort and firm where you need support; we described it as a "recipe for instant comfort and full-body alignment" in our Purple Rejuvenate Mattress review (we tested an older model.) We also described it as "expensive, but definitely worth it." Even with $500 off, the Rejuvenate is an investment, but Purple mattress sales are unpredictable and this deal beats the 'free pillow' offer we saw over Memorial Day. We doubt you'll see a bigger price drop before Black Friday.

FAQs

When is Labor Day 2025?

Labor Day falls on the first Monday in September. In 2025, this is the 1st of September. Labor Day is a federal holiday and for most Americans it's a chance to relax and soak up the last of the summer — while doing some deals shopping, of course.

When do the Labor Day mattress sales start?

The Labor Day mattress sales have already started rolling in and we're expecting the deals to only ramp up the closer we get to the long weekend. By September 1st, most major sleep brands should have announced their savings.

Based on last year, we predict most Labor Day mattress deals to will have dropped by the last week of August, with a few brands waiting until the Labor Day weekend to take the sales up a notch (we're looking at you, Bear mattress sales, which have a habit of jumping up at the last minute.)

Two testers unbox the Helix Dawn hybrid mattress.

Throughout 2025 we noticed mattress sales starting earlier and earlier — we'd barely waved goodbye to Memorial Day before we were counting down to the 4th of July.

However, Labor Day appears to be bucking this trend, as by mid-August the offers are still slow to get going. But that might just allow you to get ahead of the crowd. We don't expect better savings from the likes of Saatva, DreamCloud, Helix and Tempur-Pedic so you can shop now and spend the long weekend properly relaxing.

If that all sounds confusing, don't worry: we're mattress sales experts and it's our job to track the offers. Simply bookmark this page and we'll do all the deals hunting for you.

Is Labor Day a good time to buy a mattress?

Yes, Labor Day has become one of the best times to buy a mattress and in 2024 we saw deals to rival the Black Friday mattress sales. This year the savings are off to a good start, with price drops from Saatva and Helix equivalent to the deals we spotted over Memorial Day.

Labor Day is the last major sale day before Black Friday in November and it marks the end of the summer mattress 'lull' — the period between July 4th and Labor Day when MSRPs traditionally go up and discounts slow down.

Are mattress sales better on Labor Day or Black Friday?

Black Friday has always been the biggest day in the mattress sales calendar and you can traditionally rely on it to bring major discounts from many of our favorite brands.

However, Labor Day has become a strong competitor. In 2024, we saw many of the Labor Day mattress deals echoed on Black Friday, including offers such as $400 off when you spend $1,000 at Saatva.

Two women sit on the Saatva Classic mattress in a bedroom. they're looking at the mattress trying to decide if this is the right one for their sleep needs

Black Friday does have the advantage of breadth: almost every retailer and brand launches a Black Friday sale, meaning you have your pick of the litter when choosing a mattress.

But being the smaller sale can also work in Labor Day's advantage — you can avoid the stress of the Black Friday rush.

Where to find the best Labor Day mattress sales

Labor Day has become a major mattress sales event so in a few weeks time you can expect to find a range of discounts both in-store and online. We predict the biggest and best sales will be from online mattress retailers, taking advantage of the lack of brick and mortar store to pass the savings onto you.

We typically recommend shopping direct from the brand, as this is where you'll often find the best extras: sleep trial, mattress warranty, any free gifts etc. Brands such as Saatva, Purple, Helix, Brooklyn Bedding and Casper have all impressed us with their online sales during previous Labor Day events.

A woman sits on the side of the Helix Dawn mattress on a bed frame in a bedroom, testing the edge support

However, we're also expecting sales from third-party retailers, such as Amazon, Walmart and MattressFirm. These retailers are often the best place to find super-cheap mattress deals, although you might not get the benefits listed above.

And if Labor Day 2025 echoes Labor Day 2024, we recommend keeping an eye out for hotel mattress sales — the Marriott shop is a good place to start.

1. Saatva Classic Mattress: Save $400 at Saatva

Sale prices:
Twin: $995 (was $1,395)
Queen: $1,695 (was $2,095)
King: $2,195 (was $2,595)

Quick verdict: The Saatva Classic is the best mattress we've tested and our top recommendation for all sleepers in 2024. You can buy it in three firmness levels from soft to firm, and in two heights (11.5" and 14.5"). Our Saatva Classic mattress review testers scored it highly for lumbar support and pressure relief, noting it has great edge support too. The only downside is a $99 returns fee. Last year's $400 Labor Day sale discount matched the best pricing from Black Friday and Memorial Day — in the end, it was the lowest price we saw all year. A queen was reduced to $1,695 (was $2,095) but as the MSRP has since gone up, we expect a slightly higher price tag in this year's sale.

2. DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress: Save up to $1,236 at DreamCloud

2. DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress: Save up to $1,236 at DreamCloud

Sale prices:
Twin: $419 (was $1,013)
Queen: $665 (was $1,483)
King: $835 (was $1,785)

Quick verdict: The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress impressed our testers for our DreamCloud Mattress review with its affordable luxury. It offers great support for back and stomach sleepers thanks to its firm feel. It's also suitable for other sleep styles, but side sleepers should be aware that it does take a few days to get used to the firmness. The mattress also sleepers cool, and it's great value for money. We thought last year's Labor Day sale price of $664 for a queen was "amazing" but right now it's even cheaper at $649 and comes in a refreshed design. The benefits have remained excellent, with a 365-night trial, lifetime warranty and free standard shipping.

3. Casper The One Mattress: Save up to $522 at Casper

Sale prices:
Twin: $599 (was $860)
Queen: $799 (was $1,145)
King: $1,119 (was $1,600)

Quick verdict: The One is a replacement for the best-selling Casper Original, one of the best memory foam mattresses we've tested for body-cradling support and pressure relief in all sleep positions. The One is the cheapest Casper mattress at any point of the year, and for Labor Day 2024 Casper offered a 35% discount, reducing a queen The One mattress to $799 — the best price before this was $870 in the 4th of July sales. Since then, Casper has dropped the MSRP of The One mattress (a queen is now $999) and now offers 20% off, reducing it to a familiar $799. We haven't seen a lower price than this, although the Back to School Bundle at Casper might appeal more to those looking for a full bed upgrade.

4. Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress: Save $775 at Helix Sleep + free bedding bundle

4. Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress: Save $775 at Helix Sleep + free bedding bundle

Sale prices:
Twin size: $1,002 (was $1,373)
Queen size: $1,732 (was $2,373)
King size: $2,097 (was $2,873)

Quick verdict: The Helix Midnight Luxe is this year’s best mattress for side sleepers thanks to excellent pressure relief for the shoulders, hips and knees – all major pressure points when side sleeping. The 13.5” Helix Midnight Luxe performed very well during our in-house testing, scoring near-perfect review scores for pressure relief and motion isolation. We therefore recommend it to side sleepers who bed share with a restless combi sleeper that spends half the night flopping between their back and side; the Midnight Luxe will absorb all that motion to help you sleep undisturbed. When conducting testing for our Helix Midnight Luxe mattress review we also discovered that the bed has strong edge support, so you can maximize every inch of sleep surface. Temperature regulation is also good, so hot sleepers are safe on this one. A queen was discounted to $1,732 (was $2,373) for Labor Day 2024 and we predict a similar deal this year. However, shoppers in 2024 could also pick up a free bedding bundle — we doubt that freebie will be back.

5. Nectar Classic Memory Foam Mattress: Save up to $700at Nectar

5. Nectar Classic Memory Foam Mattress: Save up to $700 at Nectar

Sale prices:
Twin: $499 (was $1,499)
Queen: $649 (was $1,949)
King: $849 (was $2,249)

Quick Verdict: Testers for our Nectar mattress review loved how cool Nectar's signature all-foam bed slept for a memory foam mattress, and we gave it the top spot on this year's best memory foam mattress guide. We also found it to be one of the best mattresses for side sleepers thanks to its body-hugging comfort and pressure relief. However, its cushioning comfort and great value for money will suit most sleepers, but front sleepers will probably need something firmer. Last year a queen was $649 and extras included a year-long sleep trial, free shipping and returns, and a lifetime warranty. That price has stayed steady throughout much of 2025 and the benefits are as good as ever. We have spotted the occasional flash sale since then but Nectar deals tend to be predictable — we're expecting the same saving this Labor Day.

6. Bear Elite Hybrid Mattress: Save up to $1,568 + $500 of free bedding

6. Bear Elite Hybrid Mattress: Save up to $1,568 + $500 of free bedding

Twin size: $1,335 (was $1,893)
Queen size: $1,383 (was $2,305)
King size: $1,657 (was $2,762)

Quick verdict: The Bear Elite Hybrid is a luxury mattress designed with higher gauged coils in the middle that provide superb lumbar support. The testers for our Bear Elite Hybrid mattress review found it comfortable for every sleep position, especially side and stomach sleeping. It also performed well in our temperature control tests, with the Celliant-infused temperature regulating cover remaining cool to the touch through warm summer nights. Like the Saatva Classic, the Bear Elite Hybrid comes in three firmness levels, but only one height (14”) compared to Saatva’s two different heights (11.5” and 14.5”). The Elite Hybrid also has a five-zone coil support system to relieve pressure points and keep the spine aligned during sleep, reducing any aches and pains you feel in bed. In a flash sale, a queen was reduced to $1,383 (was $2,305) in the Labor Day sales. Don't worry, we'll spend all September 1st looking out for another sudden Bear saving.

7. Purple Original Mattress: Save up to $200 at Purple

7. Purple Original Mattress: Save up to $200 at Purple

Sale prices:
Twin: $799 (was $999)
Queen: $1,299 (was $1,499)
King: $1,799 (was $1,999)

Quick verdict: Our Purple Original Mattress review described sleeping on the Purple mattress as “like floating on air”. Testers loved the bounciness and elasticity of the innovative 'GelFlex' grid layer, which provides a supportive yet cushioning sleep surface that flexes under pressure but springs back into shape immediately. The grid also has an open structure which creates breathability and keeps hot sleepers cool at night. While the mattress is relatively thin at just under 10”, the mattress provided our reviewers with excellent pressure relief, motion isolation, and temperature control. There isn’t always a Purple mattress deal to be found on this mattress, but we saw $200 off last Labor Day and we're hoping for something similar (or better) this year.
