The Classic earned full marks in our Saatva Classic Mattress review, impressing with its breathable feel, soothing support, and luxury cushioning. The Saatva Presidents' Day deal sees the return of $400 off (the same discount we spotted over Black Friday), reducing a queen from $2,179 to $1,779. Add on the free white glove delivery and 365-night trial and it's a bed that's more than worth the splurge.

2. Siena 10" Signature (twin): was $199 now $159 at Siena

As well as delivering some of the best motion isolation and edge support of any mattress we've tested (that's great news for couples), the Siena offers incredible support. We think it's the best cheap mattress you can buy, and it's just dropped to $294 for a queen at Siena. That matches the lowest price we've seen this year.

Customer score: ★★★★½ (900+ reviews)

3. DreamCloud Classic Hybrid (twin)
Best for sheer value
3. DreamCloud Classic Hybrid (twin): $399 at DreamCloud

The DreamCloud can give even the best luxury mattresses a run for their money. Our DreamCloud Classic Hybrid Mattress review team loved the plush top which delivers impressive pressure relief (particularly for side sleepers) and at $699 for a queen it's a winner for sheer value. And if you shop now, you'll also get a free bedding bundle.

4. Helix Midnight Luxe (twin)
Best for side sleepers
Save 27%
4. Helix Midnight Luxe (twin): was $1,436 now $1,048.28 at Helix Sleep

The best mattress for side sleepers we've tried, the lead tester in our Helix Midnight Luxe review credits this bed with banishing her hip and shoulder pain. Helix has a mattress for every sleep style and with code TOMS27 you can save 27% on them all — that's the biggest saving you're going to see and it reduces a queen Midnight Luxe to $1,751 (was $2,398.)

Our Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress review: ★★★★½
Customer score: ★★★★½ (8,000+ reviews)

5. Westin Heavenly Bed (twin)
Best for hotel luxury
5. Westin Heavenly Bed (twin): was $1,645 now $1,316 at Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques

Take luxury hotel-style sleep home with the Westin Heavenly Bed, now 20% off as Westin stores. Our reviewer went hands-on with the Heavenly Bed and found its combination of thick cushioning and sturdy support ideal for back sleeping. With 20% off a queen is $1,996 (was $2,495) but if you want something even more luxurious, the Ritz-Carlton bed is now $2,752 for a queen in the same sale.

Best Presidents' Day mattress deals: Under $300

1. Zinus 12" Green Tea Memory Foam (queen)
1. Zinus 12" Green Tea Memory Foam (queen): was $281 now $255.25 at Amazon

We tested the Zinus 10" Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress and found the soft cushioning a dream for side sleepers — this 12" model is likely to deliver even more plush support (although it might heighten the overheating problem we had with the thinner bed.) A queen and king are both under $300 ($255.25 and $287.99 respectively) which is a bargain if you're looking for something Tempur-Pedic-esque.

2. Lucid Memory Foam Mattress (twin)
2. Lucid Memory Foam Mattress (twin): $219.99 at Amazon

Lucid beds have a tendency to sell out whenever they go on sale, so don't hang around if you want this medium firmness all-foam mattress for less. Now reduced from $339 to $220.90 for a queen, Lucid is known for a mattress line-up with a variety of feels and heights but the savings vary across the board, so you might need to weigh up your budget and your needs

3. Allswell Hybrid Mattress (twin)
3. Allswell Hybrid Mattress (twin): was $232 now $199 at Walmart

Our Allswell Hybrid Mattress review team was impressed with the motion isolation of the Allswell — a rare feature in a cheap hybrid bed. It also has good support, with a firm feel that's best for front and back sleepers. The Allswell is always a budget-friendly bed but it's rarely this cheap, so snap up a queen for just $282 (was $352.) It's also an excellent choice for your spare room — and one of the best mattresses for dorm rooms.

Best Presidents' Day mattress deals: Memory foam

1. EGOHOME Black 10" Memory Foam (twin)
1. EGOHOME Black 10" Memory Foam (twin): was $449 now $256.85 at EGOHOME Mattress

You have two options if you want to get your hands on the EGOHOME, a supportive all-foam mattress that's great for side sleepers. Either go direct to the brand, where a queen is just $314 (was $699) and you get the reassurance of a 100-night sleep trial. Or head to Amazon, where a queen is $280.48 but you sacrifice the sleep trial for the lower price. Either way, it's a good deal.

2. Nectar Premier Memory Foam (twin)
2. Nectar Premier Memory Foam (twin): $549 at Nectar Sleep

Taking the top spot as our favorite memory foam mattress, the Nectar Premier has that classic foam feel: a slow-moving 'hug' with plenty of cushioning. That's great for side sleepers, as we noted in our Nectar Premier Memory Foam Mattress review, as well as couples because it eats up movement from a restless partner. $949 for a queen is the standard Nectar mattress sale but it's still impressive value.

3. Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud (twin)
3. Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud (twin): was $1,699 now $1,189 at Tempur-Pedic

You need to be sharp to get the best off in a Tempur-Pedic mattress sale — the deals go fast. But the most reliable sale is on the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud mattress, the entry-level model in Tempur-Pedic's line-up. Delivering a contouring 'hug' that's good at relieving pressure on the joints, a queen Tempur-Cloud is usually just $1,399 (was $1,999.) If you can't spot a sale, use code CLOUD30 at checkout and claim your discount.

Best Presidents' Day mattress deals: Hybrid

1. Linenspa 8" Memory Foam and Spring (twin XL)
1. Linenspa 8" Memory Foam and Spring (twin XL): was $141.34 now $124.79 at Amazon

Our Linenspa 8-inch Mattress review team agreed that while this wasn't the most durable mattress, it's a good cheap hybrid that will suit a guest room or a kid's bedroom. Right now a queen is just $202.62 on Amazon (reduced from $249) and the bouncy finish will appeal to fans of traditional innerspring mattresses.

2. Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid (twin)
2. Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid (twin): was $932 now $652.40 at Brooklyn Bedding

If you've been eyeing up a luxury mattress but your budget just falls short, the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress delivers an indulgent feel for less — a queen is only $932 (was $1,332) in the Brooklyn Bedding mattress sale. It's also a fantastic pick for hot sleepers, as the cooling cover delivers excellent temperature regulation all night long.

3. Bear Elite Hybrid (twin)
3. Bear Elite Hybrid (twin): was $1,855 now $1,113 at Bear Mattress

Warmer weather is coming so now's the time to invest in a cooling mattress. The Bear Elite is our pick of the bunch, particularly if you add the Celliant-infused cover (designed to turn heat into infrared energy.) Using code TOMS40 saves you 40% on everything at Bear, so a queen Elite is $1,456 (was $2,427) with the upgraded cover and just $1,370 without (was $2,284.)

Presidents' Day mattress deals: Organic

1. Awara Natural Luxury Hybrid (twin)
1. Awara Natural Luxury Hybrid (twin): $499 at Awara Sleep

The Awara Natural Luxury Hybrid is made with organic latex and wool layers, plus a spring base, to create responsive and breathable support. And at just $699 for a queen, it's among the most affordable eco-friendly beds. 2. Avocado Green (twin)
2. Avocado Green (twin): was $1,499 now $1,274 at Avocado Mattress

You can currently save up to 20% in the Avocado mattress sale this Presidents' Day, but it's 15% off the flagship Avocado Green mattress that's caught our eye, At $1,784 for a queen (was $2,099) this bed delivers firm, luxurious support for back and stomach sleepers. We also praised the natural cooling in our Avocado Green Mattress review.

3. Naturepedic Concerto Pillowtop (twin)
3. Naturepedic Concerto Pillowtop (twin): was $1,799 now $1,439.20 at Naturepedic

Latex foams have a reputation for being too firm for side sleepers but the Naturepedic Concerto uses layers of cotton and wool to create superb cushioning at the shoulders and hips; the side sleepers in our Naturepedic Concerto Pillow Top Mattress review team loved it. With a queen $2,999 at full MSRP it's an indulgence but this Presidents' Day 20% off saving is among the best deals you'll see from Naturepedic and reduces a queen to $2,399.20.

Presidents' Day mattress deals: Luxury

1. Saatva RX (twin)
1. Saatva RX (twin): was $1,999 now $1,599 at Saatva

You'll also get a 365-night sleep trial and a lifetime warranty.

2. Puffy Royal Hybrid (twin)
2. Puffy Royal Hybrid (twin): was $2,499 now $1,089 at Puffy Mattress

With code PRESIDENT, a twin is $1,089 and a queen is $2,299. You'll also get two free memory foam pillows and two free sleep masks with your purchase.

3. The Ritz-Carlton Mattress
3. The Ritz-Carlton Mattress: was $2,390 now $1,912 at Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques

The Ritz-Carlton Mattress is a cooling and supportive hybrid with the luxurious feel you'd expect from a top hotel chain. In this President's Day sale, you can take 20% off, bringing a twin down to $1,912 (was $2,390) and a queen is $2,752 (was $3,440). That's likely to be the biggest price drop you see for a long time, so don't miss out.

Presidents' Day mattress deals: Smart beds

1. Sleep Number Classic (queen)
1. Sleep Number Classic (queen): was $1,899 now $1,499 at Sleep Number

Sleep Number mattresses are built with a series of air pockets that can inflate or deflate at a press of a button. The result is firmness that changes to meet your needs, adjusting throughout the night so you stay perfectly comfortable, even if you toss and turn. The Classic model pairs this changeable firmness with a simple build for a more affordable smart bed, with a queen $1,499 in the sale ($1,899.)

2. Eight Sleep Pod 5 Core (full)
2. Eight Sleep Pod 5 Core (full): was $2,849 now $2,599 at Eight Sleep US

Tired of waking up sweating? The Eight Sleep Pod mattress cover takes temperature control to the next level, using a water based system to cool or heat the bed to your exact preferences (and the integrated sleep tracking helps maintain that ideal temperature in the night.) Eight Number sales are rarely massive and $250 off the basic Pod 5 model is among the best we've seen. A queen is now just $2,799 (was $3,049) and we predict it will be a while until you see a better price drop. But be aware this is just a mattress cover, there's no mattress included.

3. Bryte Balance Signature (twin)
3. Bryte Balance Signature (twin): was $3,999 now $3,399.15 at bryte.com

You can find Bryte Balance mattresses inside some of the world's best hotels, appealing to those looking for a dose of sleep tourism (that's a vacation centered on good snooze.) And it's no surprise this smart bed is for those looking to maximize their rest, as it features ajustable firmness and even a massage mode. If you don't fancy a hotel stay, the Bryte Balance can deliver vacation sleep year-round for less in the 15% off sale — a queen to $3,399.15 from $3,999, although there are no smaller sizes.

Today's best Presidents' Day pillows deals 2026

1. Beckham Hotel Collection Down Alternative Pillow
1. Beckham Hotel Collection Down Alternative Pillow: was $79.99 now $59.99 at Amazon

We found the Beckham Hotel Collection Down Alternative Pillow super comfortable and plush in our review. It's best suited to side and back sleepers. A two-pack is now $59.98 snd while these pillows are likely to lack the durability of a pricier pick, we think this is still a good price. Although we did spot a further price discount last week, so if you aren't in a rush to buy, you might want to wait and see if the price wavers.

2. Coop Original Adjustable Pillow (standard/queen)
2. Coop Original Adjustable Pillow (standard/queen): was $89 now $71.20 at Coop Sleep Goods

3. Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud pillow 2-pack (queen): was $158 now $79 at Tempur-Pedic

Who's ready for another day of mattress deals hunting? I'm Ruth Jones — sleep writer, mattress tester, sales hunter — and I'll be going you through the next few hours of Presidents' Day mattress sales!

Ready to start sleeping better? Let's get beneath the covers....

The best mattress for all sleep styles

A tester sits on the edge of the Saatva Classic to test its support.

Oh yeah, and there's $400 off the Saatva Classic mattress this Presidents' Day at Saatva, reducing a queen to $1,779 (was $2,179.) It's definitely worth the investment.

For more information, my colleague Frances Daniels is tracking the Saatva Presidents' Day mattress sales live, to keep you up to date on all the deals from our top-rated luxury brand.

I'm going to have a scoot around for more mattress and sleep deals but I'll be back soon with all the best savings. Hold tight!

Calling side all side sleepers!

Mattress tester Nicola Appleton dives onto the Helix Midnight Luxe mattress in our Sleep Lab. In the bottom right corner, a Tom's Guide Price Drop deals graphic

There’s currently 27% off the Midnight Luxe mattress at Helix when you use the code TOMS27, bringing a queen down to $1,751 from $2,398.

The Luxe is, hands down, the best mattress for side sleepers my team has ever tested. A plush pillow top cover cushions the touch points of the mattress, providing outstanding pressure relief exactly where it’s needed; along the hips, shoulders and knees.

"As someone with recurrent lower back pain, the zoned lumbar support soothes and supports the ‘S’ shape of my back, helping to keep back pain at bay," says Nicola Appleton, the lead tester in our Helix Midnight Luxe mattress review. "If you’re looking to buy the Luxe but wonder if now is the right time, it is — once Presidents’ Day is over the Helix mattress sale will revert back to 20% off."

Helix Midnight Luxe (twin)
Helix Midnight Luxe (twin): was $1,436 now $1,048 at Helix Sleep

If you head over to Helix now you’ll see the Luxe on sale for 25%. However, using the code TOMS27 at checkout unlocks the maximum saving of 27% off. That brings a queen down to $1,251 from $2,398 — that matches the lowest price we saw throughout last year. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty, 120 night sleep trial and free shipping.

Sleep position 101

A woman lies in a side sleeping position on a Plank Firm mattress in a bedroom

Speaking of side sleepers, maybe it's time to dive quickly into sleep positions.

Side sleeping is the most common sleep position, as well as one of the healthiest sleep positions. It's good for back pain and digestion and can also help reduce snoring. Side sleepers need plenty of support but also lots of cushioning, to prevent shoulder pain.

The best mattress for side sleepers we've tested is the Helix Midnight Luxe, from $1,048 at Helix with code TOMS27.

Back sleeping can help reduce back pain (particularly on the right mattress) and can also be better for your skin, as you aren't pressing your face into a pillow. However, back sleepers are also more likely to snore. A good back sleeping mattress has ample support at the hips, to prevent the lumbar from dipping.

The best mattress for back sleepers we've tested is the Saatva Classic, now $400 off at Saatva.

Stomach sleeping is the rarest sleep position, which is pretty good as it's also the worst for your back and neck. However, you're less likely to snore when you're lying on your front. Stomach sleepers need firm beds to prevent twisting the spine further.

The best mattress for stomach sleepers we've tested is the Helix Dawn, from $729.03 at Helix with code TOMS27.

Pillow perfection

That includes pillows — there's 20% off the best pillow we've tested right now:

Coop Original Adjustable Pillow (standard/queen)
Coop Original Adjustable Pillow (standard/queen): was $89 now $71.20 at Coop Sleep Goods

The Coop Original Adjustable Pillow comes with removable memory foam fill that you can adjust or redistribute until you have the perfect blend of comfort and support. We've seen slightly bigger sales than this at Coop but 20% off is still a good deal, particularly as it reduces a standard size to just $71.20. And you get a 100-night trial and 5-year warranty, which are exceptional benefits for bedding.

It's a quick way to upgrade your sleep comfort without the expense of a new mattress.

I can't believe I haven't mentioned the DreamCloud

Testers inspect the newly unboxed DreamCloud Classic mattress.

It's rare for me to make it this far into a liveblog without posting about the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid. It's everything you expect from the best mattress in a box: convenient, not too tough on the budget, and with a little touch of luxury to take the sleep experience up a level.

I was part of our DreamCloud Classic Hybrid Mattress review team and I was most impressed with its luscious cushioned top. It provides ample padding for back and side sleepers but without sink, so you still feel supported.

It's not cheap but with a queen just $699 at DreamCloud it punches way above its price point.

DreamCloud Classic Hybrid (twin)
DreamCloud Classic Hybrid (twin): $399 at DreamCloud

This DreamCloud mattress deal isn't new for Presidents' Day but it's still a saving you don't want to miss, with a queen only $699 — and you get a free bedding bundle, including a mattress protector, sheet set and cooling pillows to complete your purchase. The 365-night sleep trial and lifetime warranty are the cherry on top.

Avoid buyer’s remorse with my 3 quick mattress shopping tips

It's probably been a while since you last bought a mattress — we recommend replacing your bed every 6 to 10 years — so you might be feeling overwhelmed by the deals. That's why I'm here: to help you shop with confidence.

Do think about what you need
"Just because a mattress is on sale doesn’t mean it’s the right bed for you. Think about what position you sleep in, think about your sleep needs — for example, are you a hot sleeper? Do you have back pain? For a steer on finding what you need, check out our guide to choosing a mattress."

Don’t assume that buying direct from the brand gets you the best deal
"While many brands have brought their prices down ahead of Presidents’ Day, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t still a better deal out there."

Tom's Guide's Sleep Editor and Senior Sleep Staff Writer sit on the Saatva Classic and discuss how it feels compared to other mattresses we have recently tested

Nicola and I take mattress shopping seriously (Image credit: Future)

"Third party retailers, like Mattress Firm and Amazon, often undercut the prices on some of our favorite beds, like the current deal we’re seeing on the Siena Signature memory foam mattress. You’ll pay $359 for a queen when buying directly from Siena, but you’ll pay $294 at Amazon for the same mattress. So it’s certainly worth shopping around."

Don’t turn your nose up at mattresses in a box
"Let me be clear; the best mattresses in a box are not a compromise on quality or construction. They’re compressed and rolled for easy storage and transportation, which means that the savings those online brands make on bricks and mortar stores trickles down to you, the buyer."

Thanks, Nicola! And she'll be back later with some more tips

My number one sleep hack for when you wake up at 3 a.m.

A woman lies in bed in the middle of the night, staring at the clock. In the top left corner, an image of a woman sitting up and reading a book during the night

Let's take a quick break from all this deals chat to talk sleep.

My favorite sleep hack is the 15 minute rule and it's my gold standard sleep method for drifting off on those night's when busy thoughts are keeping you up.

The 15 minute rule is simple. When you've been lying in bed staring at the ceiling and getting increasingly frustrated, simply get out of bed, move to a different room, and take up a relaxing past time until you feel ready to drift back off again.

This helps break negative thought patterns: when you can't sleep you start to see the bed as a place of frustration, rather than relaxation.

When I get up I like to have a gentle stretch just to get the blood flowing and then sit in another room and read a book with the lights dim. Soon I find sleep pressure building and most times when I crawl back into bed, I fall asleep in minutes.

One last thing. While it's called the '15 minute' rule, that's just a guideline — don't watch the clock. Take cues from your body instead; when you've started to count down the minutes to your alarm, that's when to get out of bed,

Get ahead of summer heatwaves with our number one cooling mattress

Bear Elite Hybrid (twin)
Bear Elite Hybrid (twin): was $1,855 now $1,113 at Bear Mattress

In our Bear Elite Hybrid mattress review we awarded this bed high marks for temperature regulation. The hybrid build allows for plenty of air to circulate while natural copper and an optional Celliant cover toss out excess heat. A queen Elite is $1,456 (was $2,427) with the upgraded cover and just $1,370 without (was $2,284.)

Nicola Appleton is back with some more mattress shopping tips! (If you missed her earlier advice, simply scroll down this live blog.)

Here's what she has to say if it's your first time (or first in a long time) buying a mattress:

Do ensure your purchase comes with a sleep trial
You might have chosen a mattress that you think is what you need, but until you get it home and try it out you can never really be sure. That’s why I always advise ensuring your purchase is protected with a sleep trial.

Brands will usually ask that you sleep on the mattress for a minimum of 30 nights before deciding that it isn’t for you, then (depending on the brand and their terms) you can either return or replace it.

Don’t feel under pressure to buy
Yes, the mattress sales are particularly strong right now. However, Presidents’ Day is one of five major sale events of the year, so now isn’t your last opportunity to make a saving. Make sure you're confident the mattress is right for you (and there's a sleep trial in place in case of problems) before you buy.

If you're buying a mattress, don't forget this essential purchase

I'm having a scout around for more deals, and I just spotted that the cheap but dependable 10" Allswell hybrid is on sale at Walmart for a lower price than Black Friday. Don't miss out on this if you're looking for a budget bed!

Allswell 10" Hybrid Mattress (twin)
Allswell 10" Hybrid Mattress (twin): was $232 now $192 at Walmart

The Allswell 10" is a decent hybrid mattress at a low price, and we reckon it's a great fit for anyone who wants firm support on a budget. Our Allswell mattress review found it offered great edge support and motion isolation but thought it might be too firm for some sleepers. On Black Friday a queen was $314, but right now at Walmart you'll pay just $282, which is excellent value.

Finally, I can recommend a deal on the mattress I use

Two of our mattress testers sit on the Siena Signature Mattress on a bed frame in our testing studio. On the left, Nicola Appleton sits close to the side of the mattress to test the edge support. On the right, Frances Daniels sits on the sleeping area of the bed to better understand the comfort.

I’ve been watching the Amazon sales like a hawk in the lead up to Presidents’ Day (or would a bald eagle be more apt?), waiting for the price to drop on the Siena Mattress. And, at last, the day has arrived.

Okay, I’m exaggerating, as the Siena is exceptional value at full price (that’s $359 for a queen at Siena) but now that it’s dropped to $294 at Amazon this is a deal you don’t want to miss.

We put the Siena through the wringer in our Sleep Lab and it blew us away. It goes above and beyond what we expect from a cheap mattress, delivering full-body support, top-rated motion isolation, and even good temperature control (a rarity in a budget all-foam bed.)

Still not convinced? Learn all about it in my Siena Mattress review.

Siena Signature Mattress (twin)
Siena Signature Mattress (twin): was $199 now $159 at Amazon

A queen Siena Signature is typically $359 in the year-round mattress sale and I’d recommend it whole-heartedly even at full price. So $249 for a queen from Amazon is a bargain. It’s not the cheapest I’ve ever seen the Siena (it did drop to $244 over Black Friday) but I think it’s the best deal you’ll get this Presidents’ Day.

A perfect pick-me-up for dreary February nights

2. Blissy Silk Sleep Mask
2. Blissy Silk Sleep Mask: was $49.95 now $27.87 at Amazon

Silk sleep masks have three benefits. First, they block out light so you can sleep without disruptions. Second, they're soft against the skin and hair. Third, they make going to bed feel like a treat. The Blissy sleep mask encompasses all three from just $27.87 on Amazon.

3. THISWORKS Deep Sleep Pillow Spray
3. THISWORKS Deep Sleep Pillow Spray: $25 at Amazon

A quick spritz of a good pillow spray instantly elevates your bed and this lavender scented spray from THISWORKS has earned 4.2 stars from over 20,000 reviews on Amazon. Prices start at $25 for a travel-sized container, for luxury comfort on the go.

Tom's Guide Sleep Writer, Eve Davies, sat on the edge of the Saatva Classic mattress - the winner of the Tom's Guide Best Luxury Mattress award - smiling

There’s a lot that stands out about the Saatva Classic mattress — it looks luxurious, you feel weightless sleeping on it, it comes in an option for almost every sleep style…

But there’s one feature that caught my eye above all else, and it’s something that tends to be overlooked: edge support.

Edge support refers to how strong the mattress is at the sides. I value it in a mattress because it means I can lean over the edge without sliding off (... I knock my phone on the floor a lot.)

However, the main reason I look for edge support is my mom. She has tricky knees and she likes to rest her weight on the mattress for a boost getting out of bed in the morning. On a mattress with bad edge support, that’s impossible.

But on the Saatva Classic she could rest her whole body, plus a few kettlebells, on the side and still feel supported.

It’s the best edge support I’ve tested and our Sleep Lab results back that up. With $400 off the Classic in the Saatva sale reducing a queen to just $1,779 (was $2,179) I’ve already sent the link to my mom.

Puffy's giving away free mattress upgrades again...

Puffy Royal Hybrid Mattress (twin)
Save $1,750
Puffy Royal Hybrid Mattress (twin): was $2,499 now $749 at Puffy Mattress

A twin-sized Puffy Royal will cost you $1,089 in the Puffy sale, but right now you can instead add the the Puffy Lux to your cart and upgrade it to the Royal for free. That means a queen size can be yours for just $1,399, rather than $2,299. This upgrade deal isn't going to last long, though.

Short on space? There's a Saatva deal for you...

The Saatva Murphy Bed Mattress on a Murphy bed frame folded down, in a bedroom

If you're an apartment-dweller without room for a full-sized bed, or if you simply prefer to keep things minimal, a Murphy bed can be the ideal space-saving solution. But if the idea of a Murphy bed conjures up a mental image of uncomfortable, second-rate mattresses, the good news is that Saatva produces its own Murphy bed mattress.

That means you can enjoy Saatva luxury every night, then fold your bed away during the day. We looked into Saatva's Murphy bed mattress last year and concluded that it would be a luxurious and durable mattress for anyone without the space for a permanent bed frame.

And right now with our Saatva Presidents' Day deal, you can get $400 off the Saatva Murphy bed mattress in a full or queen size (at $899 the twin size doesn't qualify for our deal).

Saatva Murphy Bed Mattress (full)
Save $400
Saatva Murphy Bed Mattress (full): was $1,399 now $999 at Saatva

Murphy beds make for great guest beds, but with this Saatva mattress you could realistically use one as a space-saving every-night solution. In the Saatva Presidents' Day sale you can get $400 off a full or queen size, which means a queen can be yours for $1,099 (was $1,499).

That's it from us for today. Join us tomorrow for more hot picks and shopping tips for the Presidents' Day mattress sales!

Meet Eight Sleep's newest (and more affordable) rival — it's on sale right now

A couple sleeps on the Orion Sleep System Smart Cover

Eight Sleep needs no introduction. This AI-powered smart mattress cover is favored by world-class athletes and high-profile individuals who want to harness the power of technology to optimize their rest.

It also costs over $3,000 — even when it's on sale. (The Eight Sleep Presidents' Day sale cuts up to $350 off retail prices.)

So what can you do if an Eight Sleep is out of your financial reach, regardless of discounts? Enter Orion Sleep.

Like Eight Sleep, the Orion Sleep System is a smart mattress cover that uses hydro-powered technology to regulate the temperature of your bed. It also has built-in sensors to track your sleep metrics.

But Orion Sleep offers all of that functionality for much less than Eight Sleep, and after a 20% discount for Presidents' Day, prices start at $2,036 for the Orion Sleep System in a queen-size.

Aside from cost, Orion Sleep also offers an optional Sleep Test to personalize your unit so you don't have to fuss with the setup too much. This adds $49.99 (reg. $99.99).

Is a subscription required to use the Orion Sleep System? Yes, and it costs $17 per month ($200 for the first year, then $250 every year after that). However, you'll still have access to core functionality (including sleep scores, temperature scheduling, and guest mode) without it.

This is the mattress I would buy in the Casper Presidents' Day sale

Casper Dream Hybrid (queen)
My top pick
Save 30%
Casper Dream Hybrid (queen): was $1,895 now $1,325 at Casper

I've gone hands-on with this mattress several times now and still find it the most well-balanced model in Casper's lineup. It's supportive in any position, and the Breathe Flex Foam is quick to snap back into place for ease of movement. If you tend to sleep warm but can't justify the major price jump to the Snow or Snow Max, you can add a Casper QuickCool Cover for an extra $150.

Casper Cloud One (queen)
Honorable mention
Save 20%
Casper Cloud One (queen): was $1,249 now $999 at Casper

The Casper Cloud One has an interesting design. It's an all-foam mattress with a support core that's designed to mimic the look and feel of steel coils. This gives it a springier, softer surface than the comparatively rock-solid Casper One Memory Foam Mattress. This is my go-to rec if the Casper Dream Hybrid is just out of your price range. (However, there's no cooling upgrade here.)

All Casper mattresses come with a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty.

The words buying advice on a blue background

If you need a new bed ASAP, now is a great time to buy. Presidents' Day is known for offering some of the year's best deals on mattresses.

But what if you want to sit this one out and wait for another sale event to buy? Per Tom's Guide Senior Sleep Writer Ruth Jones, that may not be the wisest decision if you want to score the absolute lowest price for your next mattress.

One of the biggest reasons you'll want to buy sooner rather than later is price hikes due to tariffs and the overall increase in the cost of goods. We've already seen price increases from Saatva, WinkBed, and Avocado. More brands will likely follow suit.

Also, there's a wide gap between Presidents' Day and Memorial Day at the end of May. Major sales events are a trove for deep discounts on mattresses, so if you want to save big, you'll need to wait a bit. (However, you might get lucky and find some great deals when National Sleep Awareness Week arrives in early March.)

Brooklyn Bedding's newest luxury cooling mattresses are 30% off

A man sits up on the ThermoBalance mattress while holding a mug, and a woman with headphones lies in the supine positions next to him.

Two weeks ago, Brooklyn Bedding released its new ThermoBalance luxury cooling mattress line — and it's already received a nice discount for Presidents' Day.

Comprising the ThermoBalance and ThermoBalance Elite models, Brooklyn Bedding COO Tim Dilworth told Tom's Guide this new product line "[Targets] sleepers who want advanced cooling performance paired with a more luxurious feel and finish."

Every ThermoBalance model comes in your choice of firmness and features a ThermoCool cover, ThermoPhase foam in the quilted layer, and a breathable gusset with 360-degree airflow. The ThermoBalance Elite adds dedicated lumbar support and extra cooling materials.

The Brooklyn Bedding Presidents' Day sale cuts 30% off sitewide. After discount, you can bring home a queen-size ThermoLuxe Mattress for $1,772 (reg. $2,532) or a queen-size ThermoLuxe Elite Mattress for $2,239 (reg. $3,199).

All Brooklyn Bedding mattresses come with free delivery, a 120-night trial, and a lifetime warranty.

A rare deal from Pluto Pillow for Presidents' Day!

Woman with a Pluto Pillow against a teal background

I reviewed the Pluto Pillow in 2024 and liked it so much that I ordered a second one when it went on sale during Black Friday last year.

Now, Pluto doesn't usually run any other promotions throughout the year, which makes this deal all the more surprising:

For Presidents' Day, Pluto cuts $20 off its customizable Pluto Pillow when you either reorder or send one as a gift. Add a pillowcase to save an additional $20.

This is the best offer we've seen from Pluto since November, when a $25 discount applied to all orders. Outside of a possible promotion for National Sleep Awareness Week in March, I doubt we'll see anything else like this from Pluto until Black Friday.

Pluto Pillow (standard)
Save $20
Pluto Pillow (standard): was $139 now $119 at Pluto Brand Inc.

Answer a few questions about your sleep preferences, and Pluto will build you the 'perfect pillow' based on one of over 35 available builds. However, all of them will use a shrink-resistant CertiPUR-US-certified foam core, and either a quilted cover or eucalyptus lyocell cover padded with down alternative microfibers if you overheat at night. According to the user reviews, Pluto gets it right most of the time, with a 4.8 out of 5-star rating from over 2,500 reviews. You'll get 125 nights to try it out, and if something needs to be tweaked, you can request a free adjustment. Otherwise, you can send it back free of charge for a full refund. Note that delivery may take up to two weeks.

Note that this discount applies to reorders and gift orders.

A reliable sunrise alarm clock for under $50? It exists!

Dreamegg Sunrise 2 Alarm Clock

We still have to endure several more weeks of winter, so if cold, dreary mornings are making it difficult for you to wake up, consider a sunrise alarm clock.

If you're on a budget, we recommend the Dreamegg Sunrise 2, which is on sale for $45.99 at Amazon. Regularly around $70, this is the lowest price we've tracked for it.

While it may not have the bells and whistles of the Hatch Restore or Phillips Smart Sleep Clock, the Dreamegg still packs a lot in a more wallet-friendly package. We were fans of the previous Dreamegg Sunrise Alarm Clock; the Sunrise 2 has been redesigned to more closely resemble the Hatch.

Tom's Guide Sleep Deals Writer Alexis De Leaver recently purchased a Dreamegg and likes the easy setup, the simulated sunset to help wind down, and the "vast library of sleep sounds."

The words buying advice on a blue background

  • Saggy edges: This usually indicates that the overall support of the mattress is close to failing.
  • Stains and smells: Unhygienic and generally unpleasant; a result of body oils, sweat, and light (and if you like to eat or drink in bed).
  • New sleep problems: For instance, you're now waking up warm, in pain, or with a sneezing fit.
  • Any other bed is more comfortable: If you can sleep anywhere but in your bed, it's time to replace your mattress.

Turn your bedroom into a suite at The Ritz-Carlton with this mattress deal

A Ritz-Carlton bedroom suite in Denver, Colorado.

The Marriott Bonvoy Store is cutting 20% off all mattresses for Presidents' Day. That includes The Ritz-Carlton Mattress, a 14" luxury innerspring mattress produced by Simmons Bedding that features dual comfort layers and 900+ wrapped coils.

Regularly retailing for $3,440, a queen-size Ritz-Carlton Mattress is now $2,752 after 20% off. This is the best deal we've seen for it since Black Friday, when it was 35% off during Marriott Bonvoy's largest-ever sale. This offer ends February 17.

Unfortunately, bedding isn't included in Marriott's Presidents' Day sale, but you can recreate The Ritz-Carlton experience by finding suitable dupes that cost a lot less. Learn how to do that in our feature about why hotel mattresses are so comfortable.

That's all for me...

Presidents' Day is here!

You can still save on our number one mattress for all sleep styles

A Tom's Guide mattress tester sat on the edge of the Saatva Classic mattress in a spacious bedroom, with a blue 'price drop' label on top of the image

My first port of call in a sale is always Saatva, to check if you can save on the bed that tops our guide to the best hybrid mattresses, best luxury mattresses, best mattress for back pain and, of course, our overall best mattress guide.

Saatva earned those rankings after acing pretty much all our tests: you can find a full low-down in our Saatva Classic mattress review.

The Saatva Presidents' day sale brings you $400 off all mattresses at Saatva over $1,000, reducing a queen Saatva Classic from $2,179 to $1,779.

It's a splurge but so, so, so worth it. I've been hands-on with the Saatva Classic and nothing beats a case of the Sunday Scaries like knowing you get to spend your morning testing this luxury bed.

I've been having a good look around and as expected, most of the Presidents' Day mattress sales are the same savings we spotted this weekend. Apart from one unexpected shake-up... I'll be taking you under the covers of that one in a minute.

Today's best Presidents' Day mattress, bedding and sleep deals

This is the best place to buy a cheap mattress

Here's a Presidents' Day mattress deal I didn't see coming! In recent months Amazon has been the place to go to save on a Siena mattress, beating the brand's own prices while still providing a 180-night trial and 10-year guarantee.

But that's just changed. The Siena Signature mattress is no longer available on Amazon... and the price has dropped at Siena.

Siena Signature
Siena Signature: $159 at Siena

In the standard Siena mattress sale, a queen used to cost $359. It's now just $294, which is incredible value for money. A twin has also dropped to $159, making it the perfect fit for a guest bed or college dorm. I'll be keeping a close eye to see what happens on Amazon over the next few hours....

The Siena Signature is hands-down the best cheap mattress we've tested. I'm currently sleeping on it (well, it's in my bedroom. Right now I'm at my desk) and after several months the support is still exceptional. It's a dream for back and stomach sleepers, or for anyone looking to save on a mattress....

The sleep tech to invest in today...

Today I saw the glimmer of a sunrise when I left the house at 7 a.m. and I could have cheered — the dark winter mornings have been killing my sleep.

Lumie Bodyclock Luxe 700FM sunrise alarm clock lighting a dark room with its warm glow.

"I got my first ever sunrise alarm clock last September, I was really starting from the top with the Lumie Bodyclock Luxe 700FM.

The best sunrise alarm clocks on the market cater to a variety of budgets and have the same fundamental function: to wake you up with a faux sunrise.

With this sunrise simulation comes a heap of sleep benefits, so let’s take a look at the top three:

It gives you a cortisol boost when it’s still dark: Throughout the wintertime, my sunrise alarm has helped me rise on the darker-for-longer mornings thanks to its cortisol-boosting light. I recommend it to anyone whose schedule necessitates waking up before dawn.

It leaves you feeling refreshed: I love how my sunrise alarm gently wake me up with its gradual sunrise and its non-jarring alarm sounds.

It regulates your sleep schedule: I can set my wake-up times for each day in advance, keeping my sleep schedule on track without having to worry if I’d forgotten to set my alarm the night before."

I'm feeling very tempted to add a sunrise alarm clock to my morning routine and if you're on my wavelength, I've sourced three of the best to buy in today's Presidents' Day sleep deals...

Save

Jall Sunrise Alarm Clock
Save $20.01
Jall Sunrise Alarm Clock: was $49.99 now $29.98 at Amazon

The Jall Sunrise clock takes the spot of our favorite budget option in our guide to the best sunrise alarm clocks and at just $29, it's only a few dollars more than the lowest price we've seen. In our Jall Sunrise Alarm Clock review we noted it's a great option for those wanting to try out a sunrise clock without spending a ton of money, although it's a bit confusing to use.

Spend

Dreamegg Sunrise 2
Dreamegg Sunrise 2: was $69.99 now $45.99 at Amazon

The Dreamegg is stylish, user-friendly and easy on the budget at just $45.99 in the Amazon sale (was $69.99.) Our Dreamegg Sunrise review team was impressed with its gradual sunrise effect and integrated soundscapes, although it lacks the versatility of the pricier alternatives. But for an entry level design, this is a great way to learn the tech.

Indulge

Hatch Restore 3
Hatch Restore 3: $169.99 at Amazon

The Hatch Restore 3 is our favorite sunrise alarm clock, a slick build that's both rammed full of features and easy to use. As well as an impressive built-in light that accurately replicates the natural sunrise, it also has excellent sound quality and a vast sound library to soothe you to sleep. At $169.99 it is an indulgence but we think the price is worth it for the amount of tech and the quality of the design.

An extra treat from Purple mattresses

Purple Plus (twin)
Purple Plus (twin): was $1,499 now $1,199 at Purple

All Purple mattresses feature the GelFlex Grid, a layer of hyper-elastic polymer that's molded into a grid to form pressure relief that hugs every inch of your body. The Purple Plus mattress pairs that grid with a thick layer of support foams to provide "blissful pressure relief for all sleep positions", according to our review team. With up to $300 off a queen is $1,599 (down from $1,899) and comes with a 100-night trial, 10-year warranty and $200 in instant credit.

And with my instant credit, this is the Purple pillow I have my eye on...

Purple GridCloud Pillow
Purple GridCloud Pillow: $149 at tomsguide.com

I've been curious about the Purple GridCloud Pillow ever since i read my colleague's effusive review but the large price tag has always been a stumbling block. Combining Purple's unique GelFlex Grid with a traditional down-alternative fill, this plump pillow is my instant credit pick.

What is a sleep trial?

The main image shows the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid Mattress on a bed frame in a bedroom. In the left corner is an ident showing mattress tester Eve Davies pressing her hands into the quilted cover of the DreamCloud

The Presidents' Day mattress deals are coming thick and fast but let's take a step back to talk about a term you're going to see a lot when buying a new bed: sleep trial.

A sleep or mattress trial is an at-home testing period lasting 100 nights on average (although some brands such as Saatva and DreamCloud offer trials up to 365 nights.) During this time you can sleep on and use the mattress in your own bedroom.

If, within the trial period, you decide the mattress isn't right for you, you can return it for a full or partial refund (some brands require you to spend a set amount of time using the mattress before you initiate a return, to ensure you've broken it in.)

Not all brands offer a trial and they're less common with cheap beds and from third-party retailers. But they're fairly standard when shopping online.

And you must, must, must use a mattress protector during this testing period, to avoid damaging the mattress and voiding the trial. Speaking of which...

The heat-dissipating mattress protector we swear by is 30% off — and it saves you from buying a cooling bed

Brooklyn Bedding Luxury Cooling Mattress Protector (twin)
Save 30%
Brooklyn Bedding Luxury Cooling Mattress Protector (twin): was $99 now $69.30 at Brooklyn Bedding

Both cooling and water resistant, this luxury mattress protector from Brooklyn Bedding keeps your mattress free from spills, stains and night sweats. 30% off is the best deal you're going to get this Presidents' Day and a queen is now only $90.30 (was $129.)

"I tested this heat-dissipating mattress protector for my Brooklyn Bedding Luxury Cooling Mattress Protector review and I think it’s best mattress protector you can buy (especially for hot sleepers) thanks to its strong water resistance and its ultra-cooling Glaciotex fabric.

The warmer months are coming, and you may be looking to buy one of the best cooling mattresses on the market. While these can be worthwhile investments, if your mattress is less than 10 years old and supportive, I recommend a new cooling mattress protector instead."

I'm going to take a quick break to eat an orange and pick up some energy (fun fact, many NFLers have ditched half-time orange slices for the restorative comfort of a Sleep Number mattress — how's that for a tenuous link to mattress sales!)

3 fiberglass-free favorites

For that reasons, many consumers are choosing to avoid fiberglass — and many brands have stopped using it. Here's 3 of our fiberglass-free mattress favorites (all on sale this Presidents' Day.)

1. Saatva Classic Mattress (twin)
Editor's Choice
Save $400
1. Saatva Classic Mattress (twin): was $1,399 now $999 at Saatva

Saatva uses a natural, plant-based thistle pulp in its flagship Classic mattress to create a fiberglass-free flame barrier for safe sleep. The Classic is also GREENGUARD Gold certified and made with CertiPUR-US approved foams. A queen is $1,779 (was $2,179) with $400 off in the Saatva mattress sale.

2. Avocado Green (twin)
2. Avocado Green (twin): was $1,499 now $1,274 at Avocado Mattress

Avocado is a pioneer among the best organic mattresses and the flagship Green mattress ditches fiberglass for materials such as organic latex, wool and cotton. A queen is $1,784 with 15% off (down from $2,099) and it also comes in a vegan-friendly alternative for the same price at Avocado.

3. Nectar Classic Memory Foam (twin)
3. Nectar Classic Memory Foam (twin): $349 at Nectar Sleep

You don't have to invest in an organic mattress to enjoy fiberglass-free sleep. Nectar's ditched the material in its newest designs (although you should avoid some of the older models hanging around on third-party sites.) The Nectar Classic is an affordable all-foam bed (just $649 for a queen) with no fiberglass.

Can a Lunar New Year refresh help you sleep better?

Feng shui in a brightly-lit room with sofas in it

It's Lunar New Year tomorrow — the year of the Fire Horse — so if your 2026 has been rocky so far, maybe it's time for a refresh. Why not try a little Feng Shui?

Feng Shui is a traditional Chinese practice that, to put it simply, uses thoughtful placement of objects to create harmony. Rearranging your bedroom can help you access this harmony so you can enjoy better sleep during the day.

We've previously spoke to Feng Shui experts about how to achieve the right bedroom balance. Here are there top tips:

Put your bed in a power position: "You want the bed to be diagonally opposite the door, but centered against the wall. This places the bed in what is called the ‘power position’ of the room with a good view of the door," said Sarah McAllister of The Feng Shui Agency when we asked for tips on where to place your bed.

Avoid windows: “Try not to place a bed beneath a window, especially if the window is right behind your head,” added McAllister. “You can get away with it if there is a long horizontal window further up and there is a solid wall behind you.”

Steer clear of clutter and 'aggressive' decor: While McAllister advised some decoration to avoid a "show home" look, she recommends avoiding spiky or aggressive looking decorations as the brain "subconsciously picks up on these items."

Decorate with light colors: “You don’t want bright reds, lurid pinks or strong purples, for instance, as it’s too overpowering," she said "Although these shades are fine in the living room.”

One more deal from me...

I was lucky enough to visit the 3Z mattress factory in 2024 and watch the beds getting made (I even had a go at stitching a cover — don't worry, mine didn't make it to a final product.)

Helix Dusk Luxe (twin)
Helix Dusk Luxe (twin): was $1,436 now $1,048.28 at Helix Sleep

It's the mattress I'm still dreaming of, more than a year after testing. The Helix Dusk Luxe mattress uses a thick pillow top to cushion a sturdy support base, lifting the body while padding it for weightless comfort. Use code TOMS27 at checkout to save 27% in the Helix mattress sale (a better deal than the main 25% off Presidents' Day deal) and reduce a queen to $1,751 (was $2,398.) It matches the biggest discount we saw last year at Helix and you get a 120-night trial and lifetime warranty.

The Dreamegg sunrise alarm clock just dropped to its lowest price

Good morning all, I'm Nicola and I'm the Sleep Editor here at Tom's Guide. I'll be heading up our live Presidents' Day deals coverage for the next few hours. As well as the latest deals and shopping advice, I'll also be dropping some of my tried and tested sleep tips.

So what's new this morning? While the majority of the sales were already live in the run-up to Presidents' Day, we have seen some surprise price drops this morning. Case in point; the Dreamegg Sunrise 2 alarm clock just dropped back down to its lowest ever price at Amazon.

Dreamegg Presidents' Day deal

The Dreamegg is one of the best sunrise alarm clocks our team has tested, helping brighten up dark winter mornings without breaking the bank. After our lead tester Eve tested and recommended it, I bought the Dreamegg as a Christmas gift for my husband. Honestly, it's been a game-changer for helping us both wake up feeling refreshed and sticking to the 7:1 sleep rule.

If you'd bought it on the weekend, you would have paid $49.99. However, I've spotted that it's back down to $45.99 for Presidents' Day today, which is the lowest we've seen it sell for. If you've been waiting for the right time to buy, this is it!

Dreamegg Sunrise Alarm Clock
Save $24
Dreamegg Sunrise Alarm Clock: was $69.99 now $45.99 at Amazon

At full MSRP the Dreamegg is excellent value at $69. Right now, you can take $25 off, bringing it down to $45.99. That matches the lowest price we've ever tracked it, making right now an excellent time to buy. This is the sunrise alarm clock I use, and I credit it with helping me stick to a regular sleep routine during the dark winter months.

Mattress tester Nicola Appleton dives onto the Helix Midnight Luxe mattress in our Sleep Lab. In the bottom right corner, a Tom's Guide Price Drop deals graphic

I've written extensively about how highly I rate the Helix Midnight Luxe, AKA the best mattress for side sleepers we've ever tested (that's me above, diving onto the bed of my dreams).

The Luxe is a luxury hybrid mattress that's been crafted specifically for people who sleep on their sides, but I've found it to be hugely comfortable for back sleeping too.

In between sale events and holidays, there's usually 20% off in the Helix mattress sales. However, using the code TOMS27 at checkout unlocks 27% off sitewide today at Helix, which beats the 25% general access sale.

That matches the deal we saw for Black Friday 2025, bringing a queen Luxe down to $1,751 at Helix (was $2,398). That makes right now an excellent time to buy. Granted, there have been sale events where we've seen free bedding bundles thrown with every purchase of the Luxe.

But if you're driven by dollar-off discounts only, today's deal doesn't get any better.

Helix Midnight Luxe (queen): was $2,398 now $1,751 at Helix Sleep

The Luxe is one of the best hybrid mattresses you can buy, with a zoned support base that lifts the lumbar region for back sleepers, while a plush pillow top cushions the touch points of the mattress. Our code TOMS27 cuts 27% off and brings it back down to its lowest price we've seen in the last 12 months. Upgrades available for hot sleepers and enhanced lumbar support.

I love the Luxe, but this is what I'd buy instead for under $1,000 for a queen

What I'd buy instead of the Helix Midnight Luxe for under $700 for a queen

The DreamCloud offers unbeatable value for money, sharing similarities to mattresses more than twice its price — including the Helix Midnight Luxe. At $699 for a queen in a regular DreamCloud mattress sale (you don't have to rush to buy, it's nearly always that price), the Classic also comes with $599 worth of free bedding, which includes sheets, pillows and a mattress protector.

The DreamCloud Classic performed well across all key areas of testing, including temperature regulation and pressure relief. Our lead tester Lauren, a dedicated side sleeper, rated it highly for its cradling support (read her DreamCloud Classic mattress review here).

DreamCloud Classic (queen)
DreamCloud Classic (queen): $699 at DreamCloud

At $699 for a queen, the DreamCloud Classic is a mattress that punches well beyond its mid-range price tag. The sleep benefits are pretty impressive too, include a free bedding bundle and a 365-night trial and free shipping.

Be right back, I'm scouting for Presidents' Day pillow deals...

The pillow I recommend to nearly all people is on sale

Coop Original Adjustable Pillow

Okay, I didn't get far into my scout around because as soon as I spotted this Coop Sleep Goods deal I had to rush back and tell you about it.

Topping our guide to the best pillows, this adjustable design is packed with a shredded memory foam fill that can be added or removed to suit your needs. For side sleepers, we recommend upping the fill to create a high loft pillow. Back and stomach sleepers, take some out and enjoy the support of a lower loft.

You can save 20% in the Coop Sleep Goods Presidents' Day sale, reducing a queen to $71.20. Learn why it's our favorite with our Coop Original Adjustable Pillow review.

Coop Original Adjustable Pillow
Coop Original Adjustable Pillow: was $89 now $71.20 at Coop Sleep Goods

Fully adjustable, the Coop Original Adjustable Pillow comes filled with a proprietary medium-firm foam, designed to hold its shape for longer. This deal from Coop is fairly standard but 20% off is a decent discount and drops a pillow from $89 to $71.20. We're big Coop fans, having tested everything from Coop bed sheets to Coop mattress protectors, so make sure to browse the sale.

It's a pillow party at Tempur-Pedic

1. Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud Pillow (2-pack)
Best for back and stomach sleepers
1. Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud Pillow (2-pack): $79 at Tempur-Pedic

Sleep Writer Ruth Jones tested this one and she loves how the low loft and uber-soft pillow cradle her shoulders when stomach sleeping. The dense foams feel premium, making $79 an excellent price for two.

2. Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Neck (2-pack)
Best for side sleepers
2. Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Neck (2-pack): $99 at Tempur-Pedic

"Instant pressure relief for the neck and shoulders," is how bedding expert Becky George described using the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Neck pillow, an ergonomic design that keeps your head in proper alignment during the night. Prices start at $99 and there are different sizes available.

3. Tempur-Cloud Dual Cooling Pillow (2-pack)
Best for hot sleepers
3. Tempur-Cloud Dual Cooling Pillow (2-pack): $149 at Tempur-Pedic

Tempur-Pedic pillows are made using Tempur Material foams, a squishy memory foam that delivers incredible cushioning but can sleep hot. So if you experience night sweats, you might prefer a cooler option. The Tempur Dual Cooling pillow is chilled on both sides, you can keep your cool all night long. At $149 it is the most expensive Tempur-Pedic pillow but don't forget — it's practically half price.

Good afternoon!

How to sleep like a Formula 1 driver

Eight Sleep partnership with Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team

(Image credit: Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team )

Eight Sleep is partnering with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team this upcoming season to optimize recovery for its drivers and crew members.

(Given Aston Martin's results during pre-season testing, I at least hope they're not losing too much sleep over it.)

That's not the only link Eight Sleep has to Formula 1. Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc is an Eight Sleep Athlete Ambassador and an investor. McLaren F1 CEO Zac Brown is also an investor.

What makes the Eight Sleep Pod 5 so appealing to racing drivers — and other high-performance athletes, for that matter?

This AI-powered sleep system features dual-sided temperature controls that automatically adjust throughout the night so you can sleep uninterrupted. (Just imagine the times you've had to wake up to open a window or turn up the thermostat.)

Other features include built-in sleep tracking with daily insights and a silent thermal alarm. Upgrade to the Pod 5 Ultra for snoring mitigation and surround sound to help you drift off or wake up.

You can read about our experience with the previous Eight Sleep Pod 4 for an idea of how this smart sleep system works.

Is the Eight Sleep Pod on sale for Presidents' Day? Yes, but...

Eight Sleep is cutting up to $350 off its Pod 5 and Pod 5 Ultra during its Presidents' Day sale. That's actually one of the better offers we've seen from this sleep tech company, but during Black Friday last year, we saw a whopping $700 discount.

We doubt Eight Sleep will roll out such a monumental deal again anytime soon, so if you're keen to sleep like an F1 driver, take advantage of this sale before it's over.

Save on Travis Kelce's favorite Sleep Number bed

Keeping on the theme of smart sleep tech and athletes...

Kansas City Chiefs tight end and three-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce is now a Sleep Number investor and strategic partner.

This didn't come out of nowhere. Kelce has been endorsing the brand for years. His Sleep Number bed of choice is the Climate 360 Smart Bed, which features dual climate controls for active warming and cooling, as well as customizable firmness and integrated sleep tracking.

By the way, the Sleep Number Climate 360 Smart Bed is 20% off for Presidents' Day. That drops the price of a queen-size to $7,999 (was $9,999). Premium delivery and setup are also included for a limited time, for a $250 savings.

If you can't fathom spending that much for a smart bed, consider this affordable alternative:

Sleep Number DualTemp Layer 2-pack (queen)
Save 25%
Sleep Number DualTemp Layer 2-pack (queen): was $2,199 now $1,649 at Sleep Number

This bed topper adds active climate controls to any mattress. It even has an automatic shut-off so you can set it up as needed — either for your wind-down routine or keep it steady throughout the night. With this deal, you and your partner can claim your respective sides of the bed without fighting over the covers. Buy two to save 25% off the final price.

To buy or not to buy a mattress online

Did you know: In 2025, 35% of all mattresses sold last year were purchased online — a 12% increase from 2024.

Buying in-store is still the majority, but that's shrinking as more online mattress brands are offering attractive perks such as long trial periods, free returns, and lifetime warranties.

Then you have online-first labels like Saatva, Casper, Nectar, and Helix that either have their own showrooms or established partnerships with existing brick-and-mortar stores in order to put their products in front of more people.

If you're wary of buying a mattress online, Tom's Guide Senior Sleep Writer Frances Daniels shares five reasons why you should just go ahead and click that "buy now" button on the bed of your dreams in the Presidents' Day sales.

Saatva at the Winter Olympics

Members of Team USA competing in the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina are indulging in Saatva's "Smarter Luxury Sleep" — a far cry from the cardboard beds that defined the Paris Summer Olympic Games in 2024.

Saatva Graphite Memory Foam Mattress Topper (queen)
Saatva Graphite Memory Foam Mattress Topper (queen): $295 at Saatva

Every athlete competing in this year's Olympic and Paralympic Games for Team USA received Saatva's cooling foam mattress topper. Does it deliver on that front? Yes — in my review, I praised its "excellent temperature regulation" and "soothing body hug." No doubt, these competitors are sleeping well at night. Unfortunately, it's not on sale, but Saatva's toppers are seldom, if ever, discounted. A 180-night trial applies.

Saatva Bestsellers Bedding Bundle (queen)
Save $40
Saatva Bestsellers Bedding Bundle (queen): was $800 now $760 at Saatva

The beds for Team USA Hockey and U.S. Figure Skating members in Milano Cortina feature the Saatva Organic Sateen Sheet Set, a Saatva Signature Mattress Pad, and two Saatva Latex Pillows (which we reviewed — and awarded a perfect score). Currently, you can save $40 on this gold medal bedding bundle in sizes full and above. It's not a huge markdown, but discounts on Saatva's bedding are rare.

Airweave is the mattress purveyor for the 2026 Winter Games in Milano Cortina, but Saatva is the official bedding sponsor for Team USA and LA28.

This is the best deal we've seen for Tempur's bed-in-a-box since Black Friday, when this discount was paired with a couple of Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud pillows.

1. Birch Plush Organic Mattress Topper (queen)
Save 27%
1. Birch Plush Organic Mattress Topper (queen): was $532 now $388 at Birch Living

Senior Sleep Writer and Mattress Topper Expert Frances Daniels says her Birch Plush Organic Mattress Topper leveled up her cheap memory foam mattress in a major way — making it cooler and more supportive. (She also likes that it's made using non-toxic materials.) Override Birch's 25% discount with our promo code TOMS27 for 27% off all sizes. Benefits include a 120-night sleep trial, free shipping an a 10-year warranty.

2. Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Adapt + Cooling Topper (queen)
Save $120
2. Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Adapt + Cooling Topper (queen): was $429 now $309 at Tempur-Pedic

We rate this the best mattress topper overall for delivering Tempur-Pedic's legendary pressure relief without retaining heat, a common issue with Tempur Material. Use this cooling topper to soften up a super-firm bed, especially if you deal with hip, back, and joint pain. During Tempur-Pedic's Presidents' Day sale, save up to 30% all sizes for a limited time. Note that all sales are final.

3. ViscoSoft Active Cooling Mattress Topper (queen)
Save $100
3. ViscoSoft Active Cooling Mattress Topper (queen): was $399 now $299 at ViscoSoft

Mattress toppers are usually designed to make beds softer, but I found this one from ViscoSoft adds firmer support. And true to its name, it wicks away heat so you can sleep comfortably through the night. (I tried it during the summertime and had no complaints.) ViscoSoft is cutting 25% off all mattress toppers for Presidents' Day, but heads up: some sizes are on backorder. It's backed by a 90-night guarantee.

"'If my house was burning down and I could only grab one thing, this mattress would be it."

That is an excerpt from a user review for the Tuft & Needle Mint Mattress, which is an extra 10% off for Presidents' Day after code TG10. After all discounts, a queen-size is on sale for $932.40 (reg. $1,295).

While that's an obvious hyperbole (I think?), people who've slept on this memory foam cooling mattress do think highly of it. After all, it has a 4.6/5 star rating at Tuft & Needle from over 15,000 reviews — with 10,000+ of them being 5-star.

I tried the Tuft & Needle Mint Hybrid Mattress, which aced our temperature regulation tests and offered excellent pressure relief for side sleeping. However, if you share a bed, I'd recommend going with the all-foam version for better motion isolation. (It also costs less than the hybrid version.)

Taking a short break, but before I do...

Deals on hotel mattresses? We've got those, too!

The words buying advice on a blue background

We're nearing the end of the day, which means once the clock strikes midnight, all of these mattress deals will just disappear. Right?

Not quite.

As I've observed for most holidays, many brands are keen to extend their sales to the middle or the end of the week. On the other hand, premium brands like Tempur-Pedic and Stearns & Foster are known to end their sales once a holiday has officially ended.

The majority of these brands will still be running sales, but the discounts won't be as deep. For example, Helix may extend its 27% off coupon for a few more days before going back to its standard 20% off sale.

And then there are the likes of Nectar and DreamCloud, which reset their countdown timers every night. Their sales are evergreen and rarely deviate from the norm.

The next tentpole holiday is Memorial Day, which is 14 weeks away. That doesn't mean there won't be other mattress and sleep deals worth taking advantage of in the meantime.

Last year, I saw several brands run promotions for National Sleep Awareness Week in early March, and the discounts were on par with what you'd expect during a major shopping holiday.

So no worries if you're passing on this year's Presidents' Day sales — another set of strong offers could be making their way very soon.

Want a king-size Casper mattress for under $500?

I was browsing through Casper's clearance section searching for the discontinued Wave Hybrid Snow, one of my favorite mattresses — but to no avail.

Casper Essential 2025 Mattress (king)
Save 40%
Casper Essential 2025 Mattress (king): was $795 now $477 at Casper

That's right — for less than $500, you can bring this king-size Casper foam mattress home. This is a very basic dual-layer design featuring a support core and a comfort layer, with a feel that Casper rates as medium-firm. There are a couple of caveats to note, too. First, this item is final sale, so you can't trial or return it. Also, it comes with a 5-year warranty, which is half of the standard 10-year term Casper offers.
