Presidents' Day is on Monday 16th February and it's the first major mattress sale of the year. But the savings are already trickling in and we predict most of the sleep offers will start in the next three weeks. So it's good news if you missed out on a deal during Black Friday, as we expect to see money off most of the best mattresses you can buy online.
Following last year's shopping trends, we're hoping for big savings on luxury mattresses. We'll be keeping a close eye on the hotel mattress sales in particular. Brands such as Ritz-Carlton and Westin impressed us with sleep savings during Black Friday and as everyone dreams of a summer vacation, they might strike with another deal.
And for bargain hunters, we'll be scouring Walmart and Amazon to find the cheap mattress deals that are actually worth your money.

We were so impressed during our Saatva Classic mattress review that we gave this bed a perfect score. The Saatva Classic mattress sleeps cool, has sturdy edges, and soothes aches and pains thanks to its patented lumbar zone spinal wire and pressure-relieving materials. This is the biggest discount you're likely to get at Saatva, matching the deal we spotted over Black Friday, bringing a twin down to $999 and a queen is $1,779. Plus, a 365-night trial and lifetime warranty is included.

Our top-rated mattress in a box, the DreamCloud doesn't have the versatility (or the luxury finish) of the Saatva Classic, but it offers exceptional full-body support and quilted cushioning that's ideal for side sleepers. A queen is $699 in the DreamCloud mattress sale and that's the standard offer — we'll be surprised if it gets any cheaper on Presidents' Day. Plus, if you buy now you'll also get a free bedding bundle. An added bonus for a bed we described as "unbeatable value" in our DreamCloud Classic Hybrid Mattress review.

Returning to its Black Friday price of $314 for a queen (was $369.99), the EGOHOME is an excellent pick if you want one of the best memory foam mattresses on a budget. Our EGHOME Memory Foam Mattress review team agreed the superb motion isolation will appeal to couples, promising a silent night even if your partner tosses and turns. Shopping from Amazon will often net you the lowest price but be warned, there's no sleep trial — you'll need to go direct to EGOHOME for that perk.

The best mattress for side sleepers we've tested, the Helix mattress sale typically offers 20% off the Midnight Luxe, boosting to 25% off for special occasions. We've seen 25% on and off for the past few weeks so if it isn't live right now, it's worth holding your horses to save on the exceptional pressure relief we highlighted in our Helix Midnight Luxe mattress review.

Always cheap but rarely on sale, this is a pre-Presidents' Day deal to snap up quickly. Impressing our Allswell Hybrid Mattress review team with its motion isolation (a rare feature in a budget hybrid), we think the firm support is best for front and back sleepers. With a queen now just $282 (was $352) it's also an excellent choice for guest rooms — and one of the best mattresses for dorm rooms.

We gave the Siena Memory Foam Mattress four out of five stars in our review. This mattress has a firmer feel and is very supportive, which makes it a good match for back and stomach sleepers. While this isn't the lowest price we've seen on this mattress, (it was $244 for a queen during Black Friday) $299 is still excellent value and it undercuts the price if you buy directly from Siena. Plus, you'll get a 180-night sleep trial and a ten-year limited warranty.

Right now, one of our favorite memory foam mattresses is $209 for a queen — an excellent price if you want plush pressure relief. During Black Friday we did spot the Zinus mattress drop to $178 for a queen but we doubt that price will return and we frequently see this mattress sell for $233+ (it's $499 at Zinus if you buy direct.) We found that this mattress was best suited to side sleepers in our Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress review and the motion isolation is a stand-out feature.
Presidents' Day mattress sales: Predictions
We've been keeping a close eye on the Presidents' Day mattress deals for a while now and we've watched it grow into a bigger and bigger sale every year. Here's what we think is to come in the 2026 Presidents' Day mattress sale...
We'll see the return of some of our favorite Black Friday deals
In 2025, Presidents' Day was almost a shadow of Black Friday — similar deals but the offers weren't quite so strong all-round. If you missed out on a Black Friday mattress deal, it's worth checking for it on Presidents' Day.
Luxury might dominate
Been planning your summer vacation? The best hotel mattresses allow you to enjoy vacation sleep year-round and over Black Friday we saw major savings from luxury brands like Westin, Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and Saatva. We expect price drops during Presidents' Day, although they might not compare to the Black Friday savings.
Look for cheap beds from Amazon and Walmart
On the other end of the scale, we expect to see big price drops on cheap mattresses at third-party sites such as Walmart, Amazon and Mattress Firm. In case your holiday guests destroyed the spare bed...
Early deals will start soon
Research from Impact found that during the 2025 Black Friday period, people started shopping early but spent time deciding on a purchase. Sleep brands might try and follow these trends by dropping discounts early, so consumers can sleep on it before making a purchase.
Some brands will offer 'Presidents' Day sales'... without the deals
We expect a lot of mattress brands will celebrate Presidents' Day by slapping a new banner on the standard offer. You don't need to avoid these deals, but it might not be the bargain you're expecting.
We might see big deals on recovery sleep tech
Presidents' Day 2026 happens to fall in the midst of the Winter Olympics and we suspect some sleep tech brands will want to capitalize on the occasion by emphasizing the connection between good sleep and sporting performance. Hopefully,. with a discount.
Presidents' Day mattress sales FAQ
When do Presidents' Day mattress sales 2026 start?
Presidents' Day 2026 takes place on February 16th (the third Monday in February.) We expect most major sleep brands will have started their sales in advance, but some may wait until the day itself to drop further flash savings.
However, we predict the earliest Presidents' Day deals are nearly here. In 2025, luxury mattress brand Saatva was the first to go, announcing the sale by January 28th — three weeks before the day itself.
So yes, although it feels like you were just taking down the Christmas decorations (and, admittedly, some of us only put the last of the lights away quite recently), the Presidents' Day sales are just around the corner.
Is Presidents' Day a good time to buy a mattress?
Yes, Presidents' Day is typically a good time to buy a mattress. It's the first major mattress sale of the year, so if you've been putting off buying a bed in the end of year chaos, now is the time to shop.
So, are there actually any good Presidents' Day mattress deals? Short answer, yes. Major sleep brands such as Saatva, Helix and DreamCloud are expected to launch offers to rival their biggest price drops of the year.
The slightly longer answer is that while still a good time to buy a mattress, Presidents' Day is one of the smaller mattress sales events. We expect to see more exciting discounts over Memorial Day (in May) and Black Friday (in November.) However, those are both months away — that's a lot of nights of missed sleep.
And there's one more spanner in the works. Mattress prices have been trending upwards, due to increased cost of goods and tariffs. For example, you'd have paid $1,499 for a queen WinkBed in February 2025 — it's now $1,799. And the Cocoon by Sealy Chill mattress has jumped from $699 to $919 for a queen over the course of the year.
We expect this trend to continue in 2026 so while Presidents' Day might not have the biggest discounts, this still might be the least you'll pay for a mattress this year.
Do stores run Presidents' Day mattress sales?
Major mattress stores always run Presidents' Day sales, and some of them can be as good as the mattress deals we see online. However, unlike online shopping, you'll need to physically travel to a brick-and-mortar store to see what discounts they're offering.
If you prefer in-store shopping, we encourage you to ask the sales staff the following questions to make sure you are getting a good deal and fair purchasing terms:
- What is the MSRP of this mattress?
- What is the lowest price you have sold it for recently?
- What trial period does it come with?
- What is the warranty period?
- What is your refund and exchange policy?
- Do you offer free shipping?
- Do you offer old mattress removal either for free or at a cost?
- How long does this Presidents' Day mattress deal last for?
