I tested this luxury hybrid mattress for side sleepers a year ago — it's still the closest I've ever got to sleeping on a five-star hotel bed
The Leesa Legend Hybrid is up to $900 off in a new Presidents' Day mattress deal

As a side sleeper, I usually test mattress that are designed specifically for my sleep style. However, only the Leesa Legend Hybrid Mattress, now currently down to $1,819 for a queen at Leesa from $2,599, had that five-star hotel level of luxury.
Most of our top picks in this year's best mattress guide are hybrids with memory foam layers to comfort side sleepers, and the Legend Hybrid is no different. Not only was I impressed with its luxe look, I also felt the most comfortable and supported when lying on my side during the review period.
The best Presidents' Day mattress deals are in full flow, and the Leesa Legend has dropped to its lowest price of the year — so right now really is a great time to buy. Here's why, 12 months on, it's still the most luxurious bed I've ever tested...
A queen-size Leesa Legend Hybrid Mattress is now down to $1,819 from $2,599 thanks to a 30% off Presidents' Day mattress deal (last week it was 25% off and a queen was $1,949). We never see a Leesa mattress sale exceed 30% off, so now really is the best time to buy. Benefits include limited lifetime warranty and a 120-night sleep trial.
Why the Leesa Legend Hybrid belongs in a luxury hotel suite
First of all, the Leesa Legend Hybrid Mattress wouldn't look out of place in a lineup of the best luxury mattresses of the year, with its snow-white stylish, hypoallergenic Merino wool cover and 12" thickness.
But looks aren't everything, so let's delve into my Leesa Legend Hybrid Mattress Review to see what I loved the most about the Legend Hybrid comfort-wise.
Leesa recommends this mattress to side sleepers the most, and I can see why: it delivers excellent pressure relief for side sleeping thanks to the gentle hug of memory foam.
However, as a lightweight sleeper, I felt it was slightly firmer than Leesa's medium-plush rating, so I would rate it a 6 out of 10 on the mattress firmness scale.
That being said, that doesn't mean it's too firm for side sleepers. In fact, the medium-firmness brings a nice balance for side sleepers (plus hotel mattresses are usually medium-firm to be more accommodating for all sleep styles) and even some back sleepers who weigh under 130lbs.
Luxury hotel-style alternatives for side sleepers...
Our expert panel of testers at Tom's Guide have tested a wide range of luxury hybrid mattresses, here are three others that provided premium hotel-style comfort to side sleepers...
The Saatva Classic is our top pick for best hybrid mattress you can buy. Why? Because our five-star Saatva Classic mattress review struggled to find a single fault. It looks great, it's outrageously comfortable and its benefits are amazing, too: a lifetime warranty, 365-night sleep trial, and white glove delivery. Saatva's Presidents' Day sale has commenced, and all sizes are $400 are off (it's one of the best discounts we've tracked in our Saatva mattress sales hub).
The DreamCloud Classic mattress has been tested and vigorously retested to see if it's really is a mid-range alternative to the Saatva Classic. It was. Above all, it scored 5 out of 5 in terms of value for money (it starts at $399, and a queen is always $699 in the DreamCloud mattress sale). Not a bad price for a mattress that comes with a cashmere-blend cover. Plus DreamCloud's benefits are some of the best: free shipping and returns, a year-long sleep trial, and a lifetime warranty.
The Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress is designed specially for side sleepers, and our lead side-sleeping tester thoroughly agrees; she's tested and re-tested and it gets better every time. It's little wonder why it sits atop our guide to the best mattresses for side sleepers. With code TOMS27, a queen is 27% off and down to $1,751 in the Helix mattress sale. Like the Leesa Legend, the Midnight Luxe comes with a 120-night sleep trial and lifetime warranty.
