The Manchester City vs Southampton live stream looks like a lopsided battle, with the defending champions taking on the struggling Saints at home at the Etihad. City are coming off a goal-happy 6-3 win over RP Leipzig in the Champions League, while Southampton remains winless in Premier League action.

Ralph Hasenhuttl witnessed Man City dismantle his former team RP Leipzig and the manager is well aware of the extremely tough task they pose for his new club. He's admitted Southampton will need a "perfect game" to take down the defending champs. They did manage a draw against current table toppers Manchester United, so the pieces are there to pose a threat against City. While Stuart Armstrong and forward Theo Walcott remain injured, Kyle Walker-Peters, Jan Bednarek and Che Adams are all drafted into the starting 11.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola can count on a squad at nearly full strength. Kevin de Bruyne returned in the RP Leipzig match and impressively controlled the action, but he's back on the bench for this game, with Fernandinho and Ilkay Gundogan coming back into the middle of the park.

In attack, City saw six different players score against Leipzig and have plenty of options; Guardiola has decided to give Raheem Sterling his first start in several weeks, with Gabriel Jesus also returning and Jack Grealish keeping his place.

While the defense allowed RP Leipzig three goals, they haven't given up any to their last three Premier League opponents. Kyle Walker coming into the team here is hardly likely to weaken them.

Here's how they line up:

Manchester City: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Ake, Sterling, Gundogan, Jesus, Grealish, Bernardo, Fernandinho, Cancelo.

Southampton: McCarthy, Walker-Peters, Stephens, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Armstrong, Adams, Redmond, Livramento, Elyounoussi, Bednarek.
