Saatva launches World Sleep Day luxury mattress sale — save $400 on the hotel bed our sleep coach can't live without

Our Director of Mattress Content at Tom's Guide places her hands on the side of the Saatva Classic mattress and smiles because the mattress is of such a high quality and has amazing support. The Saatva Classic is one of the most desirable hotel-style luxury mattresses in America, and the go-to bed for our resident sleep coach, Claire Davies. She spent over 1,500 hours sleeping on the Saatva Classic, which is down to $999 (from $1,399) at Saatva this World Sleep Day, and credits it with eliminating her hip and back pain while sleeping.

Saatva's Sleep Week sale is good news for anyone who hit snooze on the brand's Presidents' Day deals last month, as prices are now back to their cheapest of the year thanks to a $400 saving on all orders (that includes bedding) worth $1,000+.

Why the Saatva Classic is still our top pick for most sleepers

Think about the hotel mattresses that gave you the best sleep of your life — that's what the Saatva Classic will provide for a lot of people.

For her Saatva Classic Mattress review, Certified Sleep Coach Claire Davies logged over 1,500 hours of sleep on the Luxury Firm version. It was a transformative experience for her, as she claims, "I hadn't slept that well since I was a teenager."

Pregnancy left Claire with hip and lower back pain, which dissolved the more she slept on her Saatva Classic. It's outfitted with a pressure-relieving 3" Euro pillow top and a lumbar crown to promote healthy spinal alignment.

The Saatva Classic comes in three firmness levels — in addition to Luxury Firm, there's Plush Soft and Firm. This makes it a versatile mattress that can suit most body types and sleep styles. It also comes in two height levels (11" or 14") for another way to customize this bed to your needs.

However, it has a max weight capacity of 600lbs, or 300lbs per side. You'll want to browse our guide to the best mattresses for heavy people if you or your partner needs a higher level of support.

During our in-house testing, the Saatva Classic earned a perfect score in almost every key performance area. It boasts the sturdiest edge support out of any mattress we tested, and temperature regulation is nearly par with the best cooling mattresses on the market.

While the Saatva Classic has the highest level of motion isolation we measured out of every hybrid we've tested thus far, it's quite a responsive surface, so bed-sharers and light sleepers may feel some movement. Going for a split king-size can mitigate that issue.

The cost of the Saatva also includes the best set of amenities in the sleep industry: a 365-night trial, a lifetime warranty, and free in-home delivery with optional mattress and foundation removal.

Although it's a relative bargain compared to other luxury brands, the Saatva Classic still comes at a premium. Here's what we recommend if you want Saatva-level comfort at a much lower price.

DreamCloud Classic Hybrid (queen)
Unbeatable bed-in-a-box value
DreamCloud Classic Hybrid (queen): $649 at DreamCloud

The DreamCloud costs over $1,000 less than the Saatva, but this affordable hybrid mattress delivers a similar level of comfort to the Luxury Firm Classic. The DreamCloud comes in one firmness, which we rate a medium (6/10). It's exquisite for side and back sleepers, and its reinforced edges held up well in our objective and real-world tests. This is a mattress-in-a-box, so the build quality won't quite be on par with the handcrafted Saatva, but you'll still get a one-year trial and a lifetime warranty from DreamCloud.
