The mattress that came top in all our cooling tests is now up to $1,256 off in big early Presidents' Day sale — why the hot sleepers on my team love it
The Bear Elite Hybrid is our favorite cooling mattress, and now you can grab it at its lowest price — plus a free bedding bundle
If you're a hot sleeper like me, this is the deal for you. Snap up a queen Bear Elite Hybrid with Celliant cover for $1,627.20 at Bear, down from $2,284 when you use the code TOMS40 at checkout. That brings it down to its lowest price of the year.
This price includes the Celliant-infused cover upgrade, which we put to the test in our sleep lab. If chronic overheating stops you from sleeping, it's worth the extra $257.30 at 40% off.
After extensive testing, the Bear ranks highly in our guide to the best mattresses of 2026, especially for hot sleepers. As well as a Black Friday-matching price, buying right not means you'll also get a free bedding bundle with your purchase, which includes two pillows and one mattress protector.
For more savings, we're tracking the latest Presidents' Day mattress sales as they drop, as well as the best mattress sales of the month.
As a deals writer, I check Bear mattress sales throughout the year and I can tell you this is the best deal you'll get on the Bear Elite Hybrid with the Celliant cover upgrade. Using code TOMS40 will give you 40% off and beat Bear's general access sale of 35% off. This brings a twin is $1,198 (was $1,998), and a queen is $1,636.20. Don't forget you're free bedding bundle that includes two pillows and a mattress protector, which is worth $320.

Why we recommend the Bear Elite Hybrid to hot sleepers

After re-testing every inch of the top 5 mattresses at the end of last year, the Bear Elite Hybrid emerged as the best cooling mattress on the market.
This 14" hybrid mattress is comprised of responsive coils, cushioning foams infused with copper, and a cover that uses moisture-wicking HydroCool® technology, and — if you pay an additional fee — Celliant, which has exceptional thermal effusivity.
That means that it draws heat away from you, before dissipating it across the surface of the mattress. Our temperature regulation tests showed that the Bear out-performed every other mattress for its cooling rate.
As well as being exceptionally cooling, the Bear boasts a zoned coil lumbar support system and excellent pressure relief, making it one of the best mattresses for back pain you can buy.
It comes in three firmness options, so is suitable for practically every type of sleeper. We found it to be responsive, which is great news for anyone who likes to shift positions throughout the night. However, the downside to that is that you will feel a little bit of motion transfer.
Still, if you're a hot sleeper (particularly one with back pain), then this is an excellent option and a crowd-pleasing price.
If you're looking for something cheaper...
In our Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress review, we found it to be a great pick for hot sleepers on a budget.
