Avocado Green Mattress: was $1,499now $1,199 at Avocado

Avocado Green Mattress: twin was $1,499 now $1,199 at Avocado
This is the brand's flagship model, featured as our best organic mattress overall. It comes in a firm feel by default, but you can upgrade to a medium pillow-top or plush box-top to suit your sleeping style. While upgrading will add substantially to the price, this lends it enhanced plushness and luxury softness (thanks to the pure Talalay latex layer) which can work wonders for side-sleeping, to ease the pressure points, just like top-tier hotel beds. What's more? The mattress is also available to buy in a vegan version, without the wool, at the same price. With 20% off a queen Avocado Green is reduced from $2,099 to $1,679. Other sleep benefits include a 365-night sleep trial, 25-year warranty and free shipping.

"Stays cool-to-touch"— ideal choice for hot sleepers

Our Avocado Green mattress review panel was impressed by the excellent temperature regulation properties of the bed, and awarded it a full score of 5 out of 5 for cooling, comparable to the best cooling mattresses in the market today.

The reason for its cooling prowess is its organic build, which includes naturally temperature-regulating materials like latex, cotton and wool. This means that the Avocado wicks away moisture and keeps you comfortably cool all night long.

Its least impressive feature was its pressure relief. The standard firm version (scoring 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale) which we tested, proved to be perfect for back and stomach sleepers, but not so much for side sleeping. While you can upgrade to pillow-top or box-top models as we mentioned, here's another alternative you could consider:

PlushBeds Organic Latex Botanical Bliss Mattress: was $2,849now $1,349 at PlushBeds

PlushBeds Organic Latex Botanical Bliss Mattress: twin was $2,849 now $1,349 at PlushBeds
This six-layered mattress includes the same materials as the Avocado Green, such as certified organic latex, cotton, wool and a zoned coil system. It is available to buy in three height and two firmness levels. Our PlushBeds Botanical Bliss mattress review reports that our testing panel felt it offers plush comfort, excellent pressure relief and superior support for all sleeping positions. The current fall sale takes $1,500 off all mattresses, which means a queen size will now cost you $1,849 (was $3,349). Sleep benefits include a 100-night trial, lifetime warranty and free returns.
