Hip-hop, rap and country artist Kid Rock headlines tonight's 'Alternative Halftime Show', which is aiming to upstage Bad Bunny by effectively setting up what precisely nobody is calling the Super Bowl Of Super Bowl Halftime Shows. The counterprogram was arranged by far-right organization Turning Point USA, after Donald Trump vociferously denounced the Puerto Rican six-time Grammy Award-winning megastar — and occasional WWE superstar — despite also claiming to have never heard of him.

Kid Rock, who has long been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump, has attempted to portray the Alternative Halftime Show as an underdog tale akin to David vs Goliath — with Bad Bunny, not Donald Trump, cast as the Philistine giant. U.S. secretary of defense Pete Hegseth is one of many high-ranking public officials to have used his position to promote the show.

The main rationale behind the boycott stems from Bad Bunny being critical of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and his lyrics not being exclusively in the English language.

For months, there had been rampant speculation about who would perform, and whether the show would go ahead at all. Snoop Dogg, who supported Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar at the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show, had been heavily linked with the slot, but he's basking in selfies at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Kid Rock will be supported by Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett.
