As the Sleep Editor for Tom's Guide, I get to try my fair share of mattresses, from luxury pillow-tops to cheap memory foam beds. And recently, I was lucky enough to put the Saatva Classic to the test. Let me tell you, I was impressed. And right now there's $400 on the Saatva Classic at Saatva for the Cyber weekend sales. The Saatva Classic is well worth the price tag. It's made from only the highest premium materials (you won't find fiberglass here, but natural thistle pulp instead) and it's handcrafted in the US on a made-to-order basis.

But this doesn't matter if you're working with a tighter budget. Luckily for you, we've tested the best affordable mattresses that rival the Saatva Classic for less. Of course, you won't get the same standard of luxury, but you'll come pretty close.

If you're working with a budget of under $1,000 for a queen, the bed I recommend buying in this month's mattress sales is the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid.
