The NFL's highest-scoring offense and meanest defense meet in an NFC Championship Game that will determine the Super Bowl favorite. The Seahawks are being tipped just ahead of the Rams at the time of writing, thanks partly to home advantage and an extra day of rest, but Seattle has two major problems: key running back Zach Charbonnet is injured, and Los Angeles defensive coordinator Chris Shula is Sam Darnold's kryptonite.

The NFC West rivals served up a pair of thrillers during the regular season. The Rams won 21-19 in Week 11, and the Seahawks got their revenge in Week 16. They overturned a 14-30 deficit in the fourth quarter, and went on to win 38-37 in overtime. In both instances, the home team came out on top. However, while Matthew Stafford threw for 457 yards and three touchdowns in the latter despite Davante Adams missing out, Darnold threw four interceptions in the former.

The Seahawks quarterback was behind a league-worst 20 turnovers in the regular season, and in his two encounters with the Rams this campaign, he's been picked off six times. It gets worse too. With the Vikings, he was sacked an NFL playoff record nine times by the Rams defense at the Wildcard Round stage 12 months ago. And this time around, he's carrying an oblique issue.

Darnold will almost certainly need to lean heavily on the running game if the Seahawks are to progress, but Charbonnet's season-ending ACL injury raises further complications. Although Kenneth Walker went off for 116 yards and three scores last weekend, Charbonnet has been their go-to guy in the red zone all year. Then again, the Seahawks always seem to make the Super Bowl whenever a new pope is elected.
