Her father Declan (played by Jason O'Mara) abandoned Fiona on her 10th birthday - or so she has been led to believe until a mysterious package arrives at her office in L.A. where she works as a divorce lawyer. It 's from her father and, suddenly, it seems there might be some doubt cast upon the story she was told as a child.
Fiona travels to Ireland to get to the bottom of things only to find the truth elusive and facts hard to come by - although she soon grasps that her father has an... erm... interesting past and has incurred the wrath of some deeply unpleasant people along the way.
Meanwhile she finds herself sucked into a dangerous and complicated situation and unable to work out who to trust. Some new friends will prove invaluable but what does her old flame mean to her and what wounds has their chance meeting opened up. Good job her mother has flown over to make things worse.
