It’s been a tough season for the Red Bull driver, but there were signs in the final race before the summer reset that the car was improving as he took second at the Hungarian Grand Prix. He’ll be desperate to challenge for victory in both the Sprint and feature race, however, it could be tough around a Zandvoort circuit, which should suit the straight-line pace of the Ferraris.
Lewis Hamilton will certainly hope that is the case. The seven-time world champion finished fifth in Hungary, a result that meant he now trails Kimi Antonelli by 50 points in the Drivers' Championship standings.
The young Mercedes driver claimed third last time out and will be confident of getting back to the top step of the podium on Sunday. However, he’ll also expect a stern challenge from McLaren. Reigning world champion Lando Norris was victorious at the Hungaroring, while teammate Oscar Piastri triumphed at last year’s Dutch Grand Prix.
