The first Paramount UFC card will feature the 31-year-old Liverpool fighter Paddy Pimblett taking on Justin Gaethje for the interim UFC lightweight championship title. “Paddy The Baddy” has a stellar 7-0 record since his UFC debut in 2021, and he’ll be looking to continue his good form and tactical maturity after stoppage wins over Michael Chandler and King Green.
If Pimblett clinches the title, he's could be the new face of this subscription-based, non-PPV UFC era. Justin Gaethje, on the other hand, is still in pursuit of a divisional championship, and given that his longtime coach has publicly announced that Gaethje will all but certainly retire if he suffers a loss on Saturday, the pressure is on – but expect Gaethje to go full steam inside the Octagon tonight.
Cancelled fight: bantamweight title clash Kayla Harrison vs Amanda Nunes has been cancelled hours before the UFC 324 main card event due to Harrison’s neck injury. Sean O’Malley vs Song Yadong is now tonight's co-main event.
