'The Run For a Million' - need to know
What is 'The Run For a Million'?
Billed as the biggest event in the rodeo circuit, "The Run For a Million" is a four-day celebration of all things cowboy.
It's a prestigious event aimed at showcasing the best horses and the best horse-riders, and it began way back in 2019. The event has grown in stature since then, and it's now a massively popular time of the year for those with a love for equine sports.
There is a total of $1 million on offer, with a whopping $500,000 for the ultimate winner of the event.
The key challenge is horse reining, in which contestants are required to run a pre-selected, approved pattern. That run will include moves such as small slow circles, large fast circles, flying lead changes, roll backs over the hocks, 360-degree spins done in place, and sliding stops.
You can find out more about it all here.
Why is Taylor Sheridan involved?
As well as being the man behind Paramount's incredible selection of cowboy shows like "Yellowstone" and "Dutton Ranch", Taylor Sheridan is also a keen horserider in real life.
He actually co-founded "The Run For a Million" in 2019 and serves as host and producer of the event. As part of this, he also has another show on Paramount, a reality-contest called "The Last Cowboy".
