Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side are currently enjoying life at the top of the Premier League, sitting in 1st place after 8 games. After a hiccup in Liverpool's form, Arsenal have capitalised on the opportunity to stake their claim as Premier League favorites this year. The Gunners will also be hoping to follow suit in the Champions League with a convincing win against European giants, Atletico Madrid. Most recently in the Premier League, a goal from Leandro Trossard propelled Arsenal towards a 1-0 victory away against Fulham, extending their record to three games without conceding in all competitions. After a convincing win last time out in the Champions League, the Gunners will be hoping to avenge their last meeting against Atletico Madrid, a game in which Arsenal were knocked out of the Europa League semi-finals back in 2017-18.

Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid sit 4th in La Liga after 9 matches on 16 points. After a very turbulent start to their league campaign, Simeone has managed to get the reigns on his team and they've climbed up the table. In their last outing, Atleti achieved a 1-0 win vs Osasuna thanks to a strike from Argentine wonderkid, Thiago Almada. In their last 9 La Liga matches, Atleti are unbeaten, achieving 5 wins and 4 draws. Given the poor start to Los Rojiblancos' season, which saw them also narrowly lose to Liverpool in the UCL, their turn in form domestically and in Europe will make them a tough outfit for Arsenal to beat, in true Diego Simeone fashion.

Both sides will be looking for the win in this fixture as they look for automatic qualification through to the next round of the Champions League. Both come into this fixture with impressive winning streaks, with Liverpool being the last team to beat both sides. This battle between Arteta and Simeone has all the tools to become an instant Champions League classic, don't miss a second of the action this Tuesday!

Arsenal will go into this game without their captain, Martin Odergaard, who has had an unlucky spell with injuries of late, currently suffering from a knee injury. The Gunners will also be without Gabriel Jesus who is recovering from a knee surgery he received back in September. Mikel Arteta will miss attacking talents, Kai Havertz and Noni Madueke who are also suffering from knee injuries.
