Cocoon by Sealy has just ended its 35% off permanent sale. While that sounds like bad news, it's not all doom and gloom as it's now dropped the retail price of the Chill mattress, which you can now get for just $599 in a queen size at Cocoon by Sealy (it sold for $699 until this week).

Rejoice, hot sleepers. You'll find the Cocoon by Sealy Chill in our best cooling mattress guide as our recommended budget option. This means it offers superb temperature regulation at an unbeatable price, and it's now between $50 and $100 cheaper in every size.

Labor Day mattress sales are fast approaching, which means plenty of upcoming opportunities to save on cooling beds along with most of the best mattresses on the market. We'd be surprised if this price went any lower, though, so if you're after a reliable cooling bed at a budget price, here's why the Cocoon by Sealy Chill should be on your radar...

The 10" Cocoon by Sealy Chill Memory Foam Mattress got high scores across the board in our thorough mattress tests, scoring 4.5 out of 5 stars in temperature regulation and motion isolation tests. This means it's a great option for both hot sleepers and restless couples. Some the best memory foam mattresses of the year aren't very impressive when it comes to delivering cool sleep, as foam has a natural tendency to trap heat. However, the Cocoon Chill mattress features Phase Change Material to cool the bed without missing out on the cozy memory foam 'hug' sensation when you lie on it. At Sealy you get a 100-night trial, 10-year warranty and typically a free sleep bundle thrown in too including pillows, a sheet set and mattress protector.

Should you buy now?

If you're after the lowest price yet (who isn't), yes, you should buy now. While the prices of many mattresses are rising amid the current financial crisis, the Cocoon Chill actually just got an actual price drop.

Until recently, the Cocoon by Sealy mattress sale consistently knocked 35% off the Chill mattress MSRP (the supposed price of the mattress, though it was never sold at that), taking a queen size from $1,079 to $699. Although this sale has now ended, the new MSRP is lower than previous sale prices.

This is the second price drop we've seen on this bed. A queen size was once $1,239 at full price (sold at $774), but in 2024 it dropped to $1,079 (sold at $699), and that reduction just got even better. Hence why we consider it one of the very best affordable mattresses around.

We may see discounts come back in closer to Labor Day, but even without an active mattress sale, you can rest assured you're getting great value with the Cocoon by Sealy Chill.
