Rogers, hiding behind the alias Freddie Krueger, terrorized Eva and her family mercilessly. Between March 2007 and June 2015 he sent 37 sickening letters, detailing a litany of murderous sexual fantasies. Eva's daughter Kaya was five years old when the horrendous ordeal began, and had just turned 13 when Rogers started addressing letters to her directly. In 2019, he started calling her school, pretending to be Kaya's father.
Eva sold their home, moved out of the country and bought a new house under a Limited Liability Company, only for Rogers' letters, calls and voicemails to keep showing up. It required the use of a pioneering genetic genealogy technique, which until that point had only been utilized in the case of Golden State Killer Joseph James DeAngelo, for FBI agents to finally track Rogers down. His sentencing took place in September 2022, two years after Kaya's father and Eva's ex-husband John Callahan died unexpectedly from a stroke.
Featuring interviews from Eva, Kaya and the officers who worked the case, alongside the never-before-seen letters themselves, read on to see how you can watch "My Nightmare Stalker: The Eva LaRue Story" from anywhere in the world.
