Score nearly $500 off OLED RTX 5070 gaming laptop in this Prime Day deal
Best Buy is getting in on Amazon's Prime Day with this deal

Amazon's big Prime Big Deal Days October sale is in full swing, and competitors like Best Buy are trying to horn in on the deal fever by running their own discounts—and some of them are awfully enticing.
For example the HP Omen Transcend 14 is $1,574 @ Best Buy right now, which is over $450 off the usual $2,039 asking price. That's one of the lowest prices I've ever seen on this 3K OLED RTX 5070 beast, one of the best gaming laptops you can buy right now.
This model of HP's Omen Transcend 14 gaming laptop sports a gorgeous 14-inch 120Hz 2.8K OLED display, an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H CPU, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU. You also get 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD for storage, all squeezed into a thin RGB-studded laptop decked out in HP's Shadow Black color scheme.
You don't have to take my word for it—you can read our HP Omen Transcend 14 review for a full breakdown of what it's like to use this thing in day-to-day life, as well as hands-on photos and results of our performance tests. However, the model that's on sale right now at Best Buy actually has a beefier RTX 5070 Nvidia GeForce laptop GPU than what was in the model we reviewed, so you're going to get even better performance when gaming than we did.
I'm a fan of this machine because it's petite enough to fit in a backpack yet powerful enough to play the best PC games at good to great framerates on the 14-inch (2,880 x 1800) 120Hz OLED display. I've been reviewing laptops for ages and for my money there's no upgrade that makes a bigger difference than going from IPS panels to OLED. I love the enhanced contrast, inky blacks and bright highlights you enjoy on a good OLED panel, especially with HDR enabled, and it's not just for games—movies, shows and photos will also look great on this display.
And with 32GB of RAM and an Intel Core Ultra 9-285H CPU under the hood, this HP Omen Transcend 14 has enough muscle to handle gaming, working and content creation with equal aplomb. Of course, you'll want to enable Nvidia's DLSS when playing the latest games, as the frame generation and image upscaling tech will help you get good performance out of even demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Doom: The Dark Ages.
You get enough ports to use a good variety of accessories, too, including a pair of USB-A ports, a pair of Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, an HDMI out for plugging into external displays and a headphone jack for when you're in a coffee shop. And since the HP Omen Transcend 14 has an elegant, subtle design you can sneak in some gaming after work is done without anyone being the wiser.
Just be prepared to lug the charger with you, because our testing reveals that (like most gaming laptops) the battery life of the HP Omen Transcend 14 isn't great: 5-6 hours when working, and roughly 1 hour when gaming on battery.
Even so this remains one of the lowest prices I've ever seen on one of the most attractive gaming laptops we've tested recently, so I recommend you snag one while you can!
