Best Tech Deals of 2018: TVs, Laptops and More

Looking to save some money on your next gadget purchase? We're crawling the Web in search of the best tech deals so you never have to pay full retail price. Whether you're in the market for a new TV or a pair of wireless headphones, we're highlighting deals on the tech you actually want.

Amazon just introduced a new Echo Dot Kids Edition for $79.99. The device uses a new kid-friendly version of Alexa that can filter explicit songs, provide a parent dashboard, and also offer kid-friendly answers to questions. Like Amazon's other kids edition devices, it comes with a 2-year guarantee. The device won't ship till May 9, but it's already on sale, albeit in a bundle.

The PS4 Pro is Sony's premium console. Buy it via Target's Cartwheel app and you'll get 20 percent off, which drops the price of the console to just $319.99. The offer ends April 28.

It's no longer Apple's flagship, but Walmart has the Apple Watch Series 1 for $149. That's a full $100 cheaper than Apple's price and a great deal if you're just dipping your wrist into the world of smartwatches. The retailer is also offering the 2017 iPad for $249. That's $80 off and the best price we've seen for this tablet.

On the laptop front, Best Buy is taking $250 to $350 off all current-gen MacBook Airs and MacBook Pros. After discount, prices start at $749.99 for the MacBook Air, $1,149.99 for the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro, $1,449.99 for the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, and $2,049.99 for the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.

The sale also includes discounts on the previous-gen iPad and Apple's iPhone X. The sale ends April 29 at 3am ET.

If you're a student with a valid .edu address, click on "student deal" to sign up for Best Buy's deals newsletter. You'll get an instant $50 digital coupon code which you can use to instantly take an extra $50 off the laptops.

In the market for a new TV? Amazon continues to offer the Samsung 49-inch 4K QLED TV for $777. That's $510 under Samsung's full price and it beats Best Buy's price by $10.

Alternatively, you can give your non-smart TV a major upgrade with the Google Chromecast, which is currently $25 at Target. That's the best price we've ever seen for this streamer.

If you missed it last week, Amazon has also lowered the price of the Ring Video Doorbell to $99.99. Amazon also has the August Smart Lock 2nd-Generation for $109.99. Other Amazon devices on sale include:

Good news if you have an old iPad you're trying to get rid of. For a limited time, Best Buy will give you a minimum $125 Best Buy gift card for your old iPad. This is an especially great deal if you own an old model, like the iPad Mini 2, which currently sells for $60 on trade-in sites like Gazelle.

The way it works is pretty simple. You bring your old iPad into Best Buy and they asses its worth. If its value is under $125, Best Buy simply adds a bonus credit till you hit a minimum of $125. If you don't mind owning a previous-gen iPad, you can use your new credit to get the 5th-generation 32GB iPad for $279.99 or the 5th-gen 128GB iPad for $379.99. Both tablets are $50 off.
