I'm an Amazon Prime Day skeptic, but here's 7 tech deals I'd genuinely buy myself

I've lost count of how many Prime Days I've covered now, but it's a lot. Sometimes, the Prime Day deals are super hot, sometimes they're super... not. To be fair, this one hasn't even started yet, so it could turn out to be great. However, I'm always a bit of a skeptic about these events by default.
Oftentimes many discounts are made to look better than they are through somewhat nefarious means. You all probably know what I'm talking about: hiking prices for 30 days before the event only to slash them to what they once were to make something look like a great deal.
Luckily, it's my job — and the jobs of my colleagues here at Tom's Guide — to cut through the BS and find the decent deals to help save you money.
So, skeptic as I may be, that's what I've been doing. And thankfully I've found some actual deals! My absolute favorite is the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro, our top action camera, which is $70 off right now at Amazon.
But that's not all! Here are my favorites so far.

7 deals this Prime Day skeptic recommends
The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is the top pick in my roundup of the best action cameras. I've tested and used this camera extensively and it was already a steal at its MSRP! At $269 this is the lowest I've ever seen this camera go and, quite frankly, it's stupidly cheap. We've heard rumours of an upcoming successors to the OA5 Pro, which may explain the price slash. Still, I don't think this one is going any lower this week. The OA5 Pro packs 4K/60fps video, D-Log, HLG, 10-bit color, 65-foot waterproofing and seamless integration with the rest of the DJI ecosystem.
OK, so here's one of those "cutting through the BS moments" — the Z30 rarely retails at a full $499, usually sitting at $299. However, with a $50 voucher, it's at its joint lowest price of $249 right now! And man, I love this thing. I've been testing the Z30 for about a month now and I don't regret not buying a Dyson (I was about to before the Z30 landed on my desk). It's super powerful — more powerful than pretty much any Dyson out there and comes with a wide array of accessories, plus a handy green light for showing up dirt, which works wonders. At $249, this vacuum is a major steal.
I own this air fryer, so I'm happy to recommend it regardless. It's a dual basket, which means my wife (a vegetarian) and I (not a vegetarian) can co-exist peacefully in the kitchen. It's a fantastic air fryer in general, though, with powerful air frying and broiling modes, plus baking and roasting modes for gentler cooking. $179 is about $30 short of the cheapest ever price we've seen, but this fryer tends to hover at around the $210-$220 mark, so this is still a solid deal.
The Keen Hightrail Mids are excellent lightweight trail boots, that I've been using for around 6 months now. They're ideal for summer and spring thanks to their lightweight design, but are fully waterproofed, so you can also use them in fall (although I'd recommend some thicker socks if you get cold feet). As we approach the colder months, though, the Hightrails are seeing large discounts on certain sizes, starting at $96. That's a $58 price cut. I'd recommend picking up a pair now, even if you're saving them for spring.
These earbuds punch way above their price tag. In fact, my colleague Nikita gave them a 4.5* score in her EarFun Air Pro 4 review, calling them "budget earbuds for audiophiles". They're so good that after she finished testing, I stole them and haven't given them back since (don't worry, she's always testing some of the best earbuds around, so isn't short of replacements). I love the Air Pro 4s, especially their powerful bass and strong ANC. $62 is about $7 off their cheapest ever price, so while it isn't the best deal we've seen on these, it's still a good'n!
We love the battery-powered Ring Doorbell, awarding five stars in our review. These things are pretty ubiquitous now, and they have become more than just doorbells, now being key home security features. This deal is on the latest Ring doorbell batter-powered model and represent $50 off, which is the cheapest we've ever seen.
As with the Ring Doorbell above, mesh systems have effectively become a basic part of many households. Ive been using Deco mesh systems for a few years now, and they're super easy to set up and use, with a user-friendly app. The TP-Link Deco BE25 is an unobtrusive, dual-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh kit that's ideal for boosting your Wi-Fi signal around the house. It's an affordable unit, so you don't get tri-band connectivity and access to the 6 GHz Wi-Fi band. However, it comes with many other Wi-Fi 7 benefits, including Multi-Link Operation. At $80 it's also at its lowest ever price for Prime Day!
