I hate trying to sleep on a warm, stuffy night, which is why I was so grateful to try a cooling mattress topper last summer. And the Premium Memory Foam Mattress Topper with GlacioTex, which is up to $151.50 off at Helix didn't disappoint, providing refreshing, wakeup-free nights thanks to its advanced cooling cover.
This cooling mattress topper is brought to you by Helix, the brand behind one of our favorites in this year's best mattress guide, so I was not surprised by its luxurious quality and cooling comfort during my review.
In fact, I think its one of the best mattress toppers you can buy in this year's Presidents' Day mattress sales. Here's everything I love about it...
With our exclusive promo code TOMS27, you can save up to $151.33 on the Helix Premium Memory Foam Mattress Topper in this month's Helix mattress sales. This 27% discount means a queen size is just $364.03 (down from $498.66.) While its one-year warranty could be longer — rival brand Tempur-Pedic offers a 10-year warranty with toppers — a 120-night sleep trial is included (impressive, as this is the same trial full-blown Helix mattresses come with) as is free shipping.
1. It has an advanced cooling cover
I had high hopes for the Premium Memory Foam Mattress Topper when I found out it uses GlacioTex, a specialist cooling fabric I was already familiar with as I had tested the GlacioTex-infused Brooklyn Bedding Luxury Cooling Mattress Protector beforehand.
I wasn't let down, with the topper remaining an even temperature all night. Particularly impressive, as I tested the mattress topper during an excruciating heatwave and had been experiencing heat-induced insomnia prior to testing.
2. It comes with two firmness options
The great thing about Helix is that they understand knowing your sleep position is crucial for optimum sleep comfort, and that's why the Premium Memory Foam Mattress Topper comes in two different firmness levels: Luxury Soft or Luxury Firm.
I slept on the Luxury Soft as I'm a side sleeper, and I found the mattress topper to be most supportive in this position. Meanwhile, back sleepers and stomach sleepers should take a look at the Luxury Firm for extra back support.
3. Its luxury design lives up to its luxury price
At $364.03 for a queen, the Premium Memory Foam Mattress Topper is in the premium price tier. However, I definitely felt its design lived up to its price tag.
It includes advanced cooling tech, high-density memory foam, a 3" build perfect for even the most unsupportive beds, and anchor straps which kept the topper in place during my restless sleeping.
Alternatives to consider
If you want a cooling topper that's also our top pick for best mattress topper, then the Tempur-Adapt is the one. We tested it in our Tempur-Adapt Mattress Topper review and loved how the Tempur-Material foams soften harder beds. Thanks to a 30% discount in the Tempur-Pedic mattress sales this Presidents' Day, you can enjoy this mattress topper in a queen for over $50 cheaper than the Helix Premium Memory Foam Topper. It comes with a 10-year warranty, but be aware that there is no sleep trial.
The Lucid Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper is a better choice if you're looking for a budget bed topper, and with code BETTERSLEEP15 you can get it even cheaper. Our review praised its decent cooling features and plush feel for such a low price, and it also comes with a 30-night sleep trial and three-year warranty.
If you're curious about the advanced cooling of a GlacioTex mattress topper but easing lower back pain is your top priority, try Helix's Ergo Align Mattress Topper (it's the same price as the Helix Premium Memory Foam Mattress Topper.) In our review, our lead tester needed something to soothe her back ache, and she gushed over how great this mattress topper's lumbar support is. Like the Premium Memory Foam Mattress Topper, the ErgoAlign comes with a one-year warranty and a 120-night sleep trial.
