The Oilers' and Panthers' first meeting of the campaign has been at the back of NHL fans' minds since mid-June, when Sam Reinhart broke Edmonton hearts for the second Stanley Cup Final running. Most of us hadn't, however, anticipated just how difficult each franchise would find the NHL 25/26 season.
You can watch Oilers vs Panthers live streams from anywhere with a VPN.
The Oilers vs Panthers game takes place on Saturday, November 22.
► Time: 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT / 12 a.m. GMT (Sun.) / 11 a.m. AEDT (Sun.)
• U.S. — ESPN Unlimited / ESPN Select
• Watch anywhere — Try NordVPN 100% risk free
These are very early days, but it's still jarring to see the Panthers circling the Eastern Atlantic drain and the Oilers in no man's land in the Western Pacific. If Brad Marchand and Reinhart weren't on fire for Florida and Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl weren't scoring for fun for Edmonton, the Panthers and Oilers could feasibly be at rock-bottom of their respective divisions — if not their conferences.
This pain, of course, comes as a direct consequence of their recent successes. The Panthers have gone to the Stanley Cup Final in three straight seasons and the Oilers two, and those epic journeys have come at the expense of motivation and roster health. In recent weeks, however, there have been signs that Kris Knoblauch and Paul Maurice are just beginning to steady each ship.
For the Oilers, the return of Zach Hyman has been the perfect tonic to the 9-1 humiliation by the Avalanche, though this clash at Amerant Bank Arena is set to be their seventh straight road game. Matthew Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov are still some way off returning to the Panthers fold, but they've seen a lot more green than red of late.
Here's how to watch Oilers vs Panthers live streams from anywhere in the world.
