Bank Robbers Foiled By GPS Hidden in Cash
A hidden GPS device helped the authorities catch criminals involved in a recent bank robbery.
The Chicago Tribune reports that a bank heist was stopped because of a relatively new development in bank security. On December 30, a pair of men with masks and weapons held up a bank in Calumet City. The two men, along with an accomplice, then made their getaway only to be caught minutes later.
Unbeknown to Timothy Rucker, 33, Phillip Griffen, 31, and Brandon Barnes, 25, when they made off with two bags of cash amounting to about $9,000, they were also carrying two GPS tracking devices. They left the bank in two cars, heading for Rucker's parents' house.
Officers arrested Griffen after they spotted him quickly walking away from his car. He had accidentally locked the keys in his vehicle. Shortly after, Barnes was found in the basement of the house. Police also found a handgun, a blue nylon bag with $8,789 and the remaining $250 in Barnes' sock. CT reports that when Rucker finally returned in his father's sedan, he was ready to tell federal agents "everything."

Come on guys think before you act, its 2010 dont you think they will have something like this in big bundles of cash these days! Youve got to be smarter than the man! Probably some D.a.n.s! lol
Well, that explains a lot.
B: Hey Phillip, what's that blinking red light in the cash bag?
P: Uh dunno boss. Pretty though...
Rucker is 33 and still live in his mommy's house? No wonder he needed money to buy Modern Warfare 2 to play all night.
Get a life, if you want to commit a crime, do it BIG and do it RIGHT!
This is why one should check the bags first before leaving the bank. Second hit them fast and mean then they wouldn't have the time to do any thing funny and in the end every one gets to go home while a few get "their" bailout at the expense of the bank rather than nation. I hate bankers they are the scum of the modern age then the backdoor bailouts ($24.5 Trillion USD!) then the ponzi scheme ran by the US federal reserve that bought 90% of the US government debt in 2009. Third every other government is running scams of their own. Cough Rothschild....... Cough Cough

The smart criminals swindle the money legally. Hold the national economy hostage and everyone over the barrel and demands that you give the money with smile and let them get collect additional bonuses later, all legal by the way.
Crime does not pay!
You know what I dislike most about those guys?
They're most likely not doing it to feed their children, they just do it to buy a flatscreen, big car, fancy clothes, large house,or more drugs for themselves that they don't really need!
because of people like them, we can expect police to investigate more into other people's incomes.. Pretty soon the state monitors and controls everything
This could have turned into a real life No Country For Old Men.
So the next losers will now know to take the wrappers off the stacks of bills and leave the wrappers and bags on a bus.

LoJack for currency! Gee, I hope they got a dye pack, too!
this is news? i was so certain this had been happening for a while now.
So is his name Tucker or Rucker?
keeps getting harder and harder
Seriously...never ask for money in bags. Ask for loose cash in large denominations, and have them hand it to you while you put it into your own bag. Thats just sad, they left with a bag of money, but it only amounted to $9000. A stack of 100 $100 bills would fit in my pocket and be more money than these guys made off with. Next time plan ahead before you try and rob the bank, rookie.
epic fail lol
Maby he needed the cash to pay the fines after convicted of copying a single mp3 that would otherwise likely ruined his life anyways....
Just like CSI Miami.
Rucker written with double K instead of CK is Dutch for wanker. I guess he had it coming...
BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Faraday cage bags... Check!
Keys to getaway vehicle... Damn it!

This is Tom's Hardware, not youtube. If you can't keep your comments clean without being a racist, perhaps you should go to to a forum more appropiate for your level of maturity.
If you have a gun, you can rob a bank. If you have a bank, you can rob everyone.
Crime does not pay!
Actually it's more like blue collar crime doesn't pay. On the other hand, if you own the bank or corporation you get to rob billions legally, and get bailed out by the government when you fail!
