I thought luxury mattresses were out of my budget but then I tested the DreamCloud — it's indulgence with a $699 price tag (and it comes with free bedding)
I was blown away by the luxury finish of the DreamCloud mattress but it was the mid-range price tag that impressed me most

We spend roughly one-third of our lives in bed and in my opinion, that's a good reason to make your sleep space into something special. But although I've often dreamed of a luxury mattress, I figured they were out of my price range. The DreamCloud Mattress, which starts at just $399 at DreamCloud, changed that.
I got to test this bed for our DreamCloud mattress review and there's a good reason why it takes the second spot in our guide to the best mattresses you can buy online.
It's comfortable from the get-go, and quilting and support gives it that je ne sais quoi normally confined to the best luxury mattresses.
I'm tracking all the best Presidents' Day mattress deals so if you want to save on a luxury bed, now's the time to shop. But if these premium designs are still out of your budget, here's why I love the DreamCloud.
At $699 for a queen in the DreamCloud mattress sale this impressive hybrid sits in the mid-range price bracket (but feels like a more expensive bed.) You'll also get some fantastic extras for your money, include a free bedding bundle and a 365-night trial (something I'll delve into more below.)
How the DreamCloud Classic rivals our favorite luxury mattresses
Quilted cushioning that belongs in a hotel suite
The plush surface was the first thing I noticed when lying down on the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid mattress.
DreamCloud uses its signature CloudQuilt top to create this feel. It pairs a soft-to-the-touch cover with stitched-in foam, forming a fan pattern. This means the cushioning has a bit of bounce, so you never sink too far into the mattress.
Hotel mattresses use a similar trick to create luxury comfort that suits nearly all sleep styles. In most premium hotels you're likely to find a mattress with either a quilted cover or featherbed, for luxury pressure relief.
Full-body support of a premium design
The DreamCloud mattress is good at creating a 'weightless' feel. That's when you feel cradled but also lifted and supported, as if you're hardly placing any pressure on the bed.
Part of this is thanks to the cushioning I mentioned above but let's not overlook the support core.
As well as a spring base, the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid has a layer of adaptive support foam. The two work together to lift and hold the spine, so your body doesn't sag into the bed and you can avoid back pain.
Luxury mattresses often go one step further by using integrated lumbar support (that's extra strength in the central third of the bed.) But you can expect to pay extra for that.
High-quality extras
You might have noticed that when you make a luxury purchase, you get certain benefits that aren't included in your standard shop. For example, I once ordered a high-end mascara and got free perfume samples thrown in (my drugstore makeup comes with nada.)
The same is true of mattress brands. Premium mattresses tend to come with longer sleep trials and a better warranty, meaning you both have more time to test the bed and increased peace of mind if something goes wrong.
DreamCloud offers the exceptional benefits you'd normally expect from a bed twice the price, including a 365-night trial and a lifetime warranty.
Plus, if you shop now you'll also get a free bedding bundle thrown in as well, including a mattress protector, sheet set, and cooling pillows.
3 more luxury sleep purchases that won't break the bank
You don't have to invest in a mattress just to add some luxury to your sleep. Here are three indulgent accessories that will turn your bed into a hotel suite.
Snuggling up in a soft, fresh sheet set is a little touch of luxury in your every day and these Comphy SoftSpa Sheets by Coop Sleep Goods are also easy to care for (doing the laundry is not luxurious.) There's 40% off sheet sets at Coop, reducing a queen to $119.40 (was $199.) It's an indulgence, perhaps, but one you can enjoy night after night.
If you can't afford silk sheets, a silk eye mask is the next best thing. Gentle on the skin and hair, this Blissy Silk Sleep Mask effectively blocks out light so you can slumber happily, even if you're enjoying a vacation-style lazy morning) There's up to 44% off Blissy sleep masks on Amazon, making this a wallet-friendly luxury at just $27.87 (was $49.95.)
Create a luxury atmosphere in your bedroom with a scented pillow spray, like this lavender option from THISWORKS. With prices starting at just $25, a quick spritz on your pillows before bed both elevates your nighttime routine and helps you fall asleep fast.
