Amazon Black Friday 2014: Here Are the Best Deals

By - Source: Tom's Guide US | B 7 comments

Amazon is the latest in a long line of retailers to extend Black Friday beyond its traditional purview, offering a full eight days of deals. Ordering electronics on Amazon can be handy, as it means you don't have to brave Black Friday traffic or crowds, but it comes with a few caveats as well. Like any other retailer, some of Amazon's deals are fantastic, and some are there just to clear the warehouses.

If you're like Arthur Dent in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and would rather lie in front of a bulldozer than leave your house, you could do worse than grab a few holiday gifts on Amazon come the day after Thanksgiving. Tom's Guide has selected a few deals to keep your eye on.

Here are Tom's Guide's picks for the top Amazon Black Friday deals this year:

How the Sale Works

Although we've provided links to a few of the best deals, Amazon is an enormous, sprawling vendor with big Black Friday plans. In fact, an Amazon press release boasts that there will be new Black Friday deals every 10 minutes leading up to the big day itself. The products we've highlighted will not go on sale until Black Friday itself, but there will be plenty of other price-drops to consider in the meantime.

The simplest way to keep track of Amazon's sales is to visit its Black Friday page. Similar to its daily Gold Box deals, this page highlights its limited-time deals as well as general sales on everything from electronics to clothing to toys. This guide only covers consumer electronics, but whether your loved ones' tastes skew to jewelry, fashion or automotive interests, it's worth taking a look at what's on sale, and checking back often.

I don't understand. It says Amazon has a deal for the Seiki 50-inch 1080p LED HDTV for $229, but I can't find it for that price anywhere on their site. I have looked through all of their deals and I have specifically searched the site for that TV. When it comes up it is $600. Can someone tell me what I am missing here?

You need to keep in mind that those prices are just for a limited time, for example, they release the offer and that offer ends until lats unit is sold or for example until 2 hours after start the offer. I suggest you contact Amazon over chat, they can give you the exact hour for that offer.

Brick and Mortar Black Friday is a waste to me. You can typically find cheaper products on Amazon year round. They do offer some great deals throughout November. I shopped many Amazon deals last year and with Prime it made holiday shopping easy and stress free. On Thanksgiving you will find me sleeping off my turkey not joining all the shopping crazies!
