Introducing the Tom’s Guide Savings Squad: Upgrade your life (for less)
We're here to help you save
With the price of everything skyrocketing — from gas and electricity to RAM and laptops — having an ally can be a powerful thing. Especially if that ally is an expert in helping you save money on the things you’re passionate about.
To build on the momentum of our big Tom’s Guide relaunch, we’re launching the Tom’s Guide Saving Squad to help you upgrade your life for less. While AI can give shoppers helpful product info, at Tom's Guide we feel nothing can truly replicate the human touch. That's why our reviews and buying advice are based on the experiences and knowledge of our people.
Our goal is to connect you directly with our deals and category experts across computing, phones, fitness, home, streaming and more so you’ll be able to make the best purchasing decisions for you and your budget.
These are just some of the ways the Tom’s Guide Savings Squad is bringing its mission to life on the site, on video and through our newsletters.
- Savings Squad Shop: Experience a new way to shop and save with expertly curated editors picks in an easy-to-browse format. Plus, you’ll be able to apply additional savings with contextually relevant vouchers and coupon codes.
- Value Verified: We buy the most popular value-priced products directly from Amazon and test them so you’ll know if they’re worth the investment, including power banks, earbuds, Bluetooth trackers, smart plugs and more.
- Deal Detective: With over 20 years of experience, Tom’s Guide Deals Editor in Chief Louis Ramirez gives his advice on everything from the best hidden Amazon Prime perks to when is the best (and worst) time to buy a TV.
- Flex for Less: You don’t need to buy ultra-premium flagship devices to get the features you need. From low-cost Apple Watch alternatives and amazing value-priced laptops to big-screen TVs under $500, we’ll tell you how to live it up on the cheap.
- Click to Unsubscribe: We help you figure out what subscriptions you should keep and what to cancel in a given month. And we’ll vet the best apps and services that do the hard work for you.

The Tom’s Guide Saving Squad will be composed of Tom’s Guide’s world-class deals team, including Deals Editor in Chief Louis Ramirez, as well as editors Olivia Halevy and Millie-Davis Williams, plus other experts across the TG team. This includes Homes eCommerce Editor Cynthia Lawrence and Fitness Senior Writer Nick Harris-Fry.
The Savings Squad will have its own destination on Tom’s Guide, complete with the latest deals, tips and timely videos to help you save big. And you’ll be seeing The Savings Squad directly in your inbox with a dedicated newsletter each week.
Our Savings Squad experts will be wherever you need them to be, including in your social feeds as you scroll. We’ll be delivering regular videos on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube dedicated to maximizing your budget. And this starts with our first roundup on the best power banks under $30 based on our lab testing.
Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.
We’re just getting started with the Tom’s Guide Saving Squad, with even bigger plans for major sales events like Prime Day and Black Friday. So stay tuned for further updates and tell us what you think so far in the comments!
