Frank Lampard’s Everton are in desperate need of a win, having lost their opening two fixtures. Facing a newly promoted side at home gives them a huge opportunity to get their season up and running.

Nottingham Forest claimed their first home Premier League win in 23 years last weekend. Roared on by the home crowd, a Taiwo Awoniyi goal was enough for them to beat West Ham as Declan Rice missed a penalty for the visitors.

Anthony Gordon’s future at Everton is in doubt as Chelsea continue to try to tempt the young midfielder away from Merseyside. Dele Alli also looks to be on the way out and is expected to sign for Turkish side Besiktas. The Toffees are thought to be keen to bring in a new forward before the transfer window closes, particularly with Dominic Calvert-Lewin out injured again. Blackburn’s Ben Brereton Diaz seems to be top of their wanted list.

Forest brought in a number of players over the summer, with Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White set to be their latest recruit. However, it’s clear not everyone is fully integrated yet. That first win should be a confidence booster though, and Goodison Park may well be the perfect place to claim their first away points of the season.

There's not much of a head-to-head form guide available going into this game, as these two teams haven't played each other since January 1999. On that occasion, Nottingham Forest came away 1-0 winners. However, Everton have not lost their opening three league games since the start of the 1990-91 season.

Here's how they line up:

Everton: Pickford, Patterson, Holgate, Tarkowski, Coady, Mykolenko, Davies, Iwobi, Gray, Gordon, Rondon.

Nottm Forest: Henderson, Williams, Cook, Worrall, McKenna, Toffolo, O'Brien, Mangala, Lingard, Johnson, Awoniyi.

Can Steve Cooper’s players repeat history, or will Lampard guide his misfiring team to their first points? Find out by watching the Everton vs Nottm Forest live stream.
