Prime Video is making a fairly clear play for the next big young adult hit with "Off Campus," a new adaptation of Elle Kennedy's bestselling book series that already arrives with a built-in fanbase.

Season 1 is based on "The Deal" and follows Hannah Wells, a music major, and Garrett Graham, Briar University's star hockey captain, whose tutoring arrangement and fake-dating plan become more complicated.
There is plenty of anticipation around "Off Campus" before a single episode has aired. The books helped define the modern hockey romance boom, and the TV version has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its debut, suggesting Amazon is treating this as more than a one-and-done adaptation.
