First up is a Fiesta Bowl matchup that nobody saw coming. The Hurricanes were the snuck into the playoff field and their 24-14 victory over No.2-seeded reigning champions Ohio State has gone down as the biggest upset in playoff history, while the Rebels have had to contend with Lane Kiffin's sudden exit. Neither program had won a CFP game before this season.
Pete Golding fever is understandably running high, but he was the Rebels' DC before his ascent to head coach, and his old unit has looked like a ticking timebomb all season. QB Trinidad Chambliss put the team on his back in the 39-34 victory over Georgia, but he now has to face up to a Rueben Bain Jr. and Akheem Mesidor-led pass rush that's produced 12 sacks in two playoff games and a nation-leading 46 for the season.
Then it's over to a Peach Bowl clash between two teams chasing a first national championship title, which sees potential No.1 and No.2 overall picks Fernando Mendoza and Dante Moore take center-stage. The Hoosiers announced themselves with a 30-20 victory on the Ducks' own turf in October, in a game that saw both QBs struggle badly.
Heisman Trophy winner Mendoza's late pick-six summed up his day, while Moore was sacked six times. He's been sacked 15 times all season. Oregon, who were last season's No.1 seed but were one and done, were dealt a major blow in midweek with the news that primary RB Jordan Davison is out with a broken clavicle.
Here's how to watch College Football Playoffs 2025/26 from anywhere in the world, and potentially for free.
