I streamed TV all over the world with this one tool — and it's 75% off for Black Friday
Here's how you can access all your favorite channels whilst travelling abroad with a VPN — there's currently Black Friday discounts available right now!
When I set off on my travels to Australia and Southeast Asia, I packed the essentials – sun cream, swimming shorts and NordVPN. To start with, I thought it was wise to use a VPN to help protect my data against unprotected public Wi-Fi but it turned out to be my lifeline for following U.K. sport as much as it was for staying secure on the road.
In March, I was in a hotel in Vietnam when I realised that the Carabao Cup final was taking place when Newcastle faced Liverpool. As I was logged in via a UK server thanks to NordVPN, I could stream the match live on ITVX. That match felt like a little piece of home, watching a major U.K. sporting final thousands of miles away.
Then, throughout March and April, I jumped between Sky Sports and TNT Sports to catch all the Premier League action. I remember watching a game between Arsenal vs Liverpool on Sky Sports thanks to NordVPN hiding the fact I was miles away from the U.K..
Whilst on the move in Thailand, I streamed FA Cup ties on BBC iPlayer and ITVX, including massive clashes like Aston Villa vs Tottenham and Manchester United vs Fulham and the streaming quality was excellent.
By late spring, I was delving into much more than just football, the World Indoor Athletics Championships was covered by BBC Sport. I remember doing my laundry in a hostel in Vietnam whilst watching the sprints. I also watched the Diamond League athletics meeting in Rome and the F1 Spanish Grand Prix thanks to the wonders of NordVPN.
All the while, Sky Sports and TNT Sports were ready at my disposal whether I was in the mood for a big football clash or some elite racing. NordVPN made switching between UK servers feel seamless, I was never blocked out from watching some of the biggest sporting events on my travels. Despite being thousands of miles away, I stayed connected with British sport for every major event thanks to NordVPN.
Why do I need to take advantage of NordVPN's Black Friday deal?
If you're travelling away from home on vacation or business it can be tricky to access your usual streaming platforms due to geo-restrictions.
This is where a VPN becomes your best friend and you can use it to login to your usual streams and bypass geo-blockers. I found it particularly useful in Australia and Southeast Asia to access my favorite U.K. streaming platforms such as Sky Sports, ITVX, BBC iPlayer and TNT Sports.
Right now, our favourite VPN — NordVPN — is running a massive Black Friday sale with big discounts across all its plans. At $2.99 per month, this NordVPN deal offers a significant saving of around $11 compared to the regular price. It's the perfect choice for streaming unblocking and there's a 30-day refund period if you aren't happy.

2. Choose the location you wish to connect to in the VPN app. For example, if you're visiting the Australia and want to watch ITVX's coverage of I'm a celebrity, get me out of here, select 'U.K.' from the listed countries.
3. Sit back and enjoy. Head to your preferred streaming service and watch all your favorite shows just as if you were at home.
