Directed by former "Gogglebox" showrunner and friend of the family Tania Alexander and executive-produced by Sharon Osbourne, "Ozzy: No Escape From Now" wasn't supposed to be a posthumous tribute. It was in edit when he died from a heart attack on July 22, 17 days after one of the greatest parting shows in rock-n-roll history.

Through the Parkinson's disease, the pneumonia, the sepsis, the broken neck and all of the agony and resentment they inflicted on him, what kept Ozzy Osborne going more than anything was his steadfast longing for a proper sendoff. And boy did he pull it out of the bag.

Sat on a throne on-stage at Villa Park, home to his beloved Aston Villa, the "Back to the Beginning" concert granted the Prince of Darkness his final wish.

Why are there two Ozzy documentaries?

"Ozzy: No Escape From Now" (Paramount+) and "Ozzy: Coming Home" (BBC) are two seperate documentary films. The former was filmed over six years and was never intended to be a posthumous look at the Black Sabbath frontman's life. The later – the BBC's "Coming Home" – is a 59-minute film shot over the last three years. The Paramount documentary is a two-hour look at the health issues he suffered since 2019 and contains much more footage of the man himself.
