Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 5 is out now in Australia, and while the previously advertised pre-order bonuses have dried up, we're still here to help you find the best Galaxy Z Fold 5 plans and deals from the country's biggest telcos and retailers.

Easily the most premium foldable up for purchase in Australia, the new Z Fold 5 delivers a host of important refinements over its predecessor, including a new zero-gap hinge (finally), a thinner design and a range of software improvements, such as two-handed drag-and-drop functionality and better multi-tasking features.

Like the Z Flip 5 (which is also out now), the Z Fold 5 carries the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset that powers this year's Galaxy S23 Ultra, meaning that battery life and performance improvements are to be expected.

As for colour variants, the Z Fold 5 is releasing in Phantom Black, Cream and Icy Blue, as well as two additional colours (Grey, Blue) that you can only get from Samsung's online store.

Aside from buying direct from Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is also up for purchase from Optus, Vodafone and Telstra, with options to buy outright or on a plan (depending on the telco).

Unlike the smaller Z Flip 5, Samsung's new Z Fold 5 has gone up in price slightly, now starting at AU$2,599 for the 256GB model, and topping out at AU$3,149 for the storage-heavy 1TB version. Thankfully, each of the carriers and retailers listed below is offering a free storage upgrade to the next highest capacity with pre-orders of the Z Fold 5, which should take the sting out of its price hike.

You can save some more cash by opting for a cheaper mobile plan, and we think Vodafone’s got the best offer among the big three. We suggest getting the Fold 5 on a 24-month contract, and pairing it with Vodafone’s AU$45 Small plan. That’ll get you 40GB for a combined price of AU$140.79 a month.
