If you share a bed with someone who has different ideas about how firm a mattress should be, then the Saatva Solaire adjustable mattress could be the answer to your prayers. Right now a queen size is down to $4,074 (was $4,599) at Saatva.

The Solaire is a premium adjustable bed from the same brand behind the best mattress we've ever tested, the Classic. However, the Solaire has 50 firmness settings to choose from. Plus, in queen size or larger you can have different settings for each side of the bed, which will be music to the ears of couples with different sleep preferences.

The Solaire is also Saatva's most expensive mattress, with prices starting at $3,499 for a twin XL at full MSRP. So it definitely pays to hold out for holiday deal events, like today's Saatva Memorial Day sale. Buying today means you stand to save up to $525, which is an excellent deal. But is this bed right for you? If you're still shopping around, we're tracking the best Memorial Day mattress sales of the day.

The Solaire is Saatva's adjustable mattress, with 50 firmness levels that you select via a remote control. It sleeps temperature-neutral thanks to a breathable design, and we rated it highly for pressure relief and motion control. There's $525 off a queen size Solaire in today's Saatva mattress sale, and while you'd save more by waiting for a 15%-off deal, these don't come around often and are difficult to predict. Comes with free White Glove delivery and lifetime warranty.

Is the Saatva Solaire right for you?

The Solaire's adjustable firmness comes from a pair of air chambers (just one in the twin XL and full sizes), with air being pumped into or out of them to increase or decrease firmness. Our tester was impressed by its performance, although she noted that there was a bit of a learning curve with the Solaire's remote control, and she also found that having markedly different firmness levels resulted in a noticeable dip between sides; something to bear in mind if you like to spread out beyond your side of the bed.

Anyone who relies on sturdy edges for getting in and out of bed, or simply for sitting on the sides, should know that on the softer settings the Solaire's edge support is distinctly lacking. And conversely, if you're easily disturbed by a partner's movements, you'll find that motion isolation is weaker if you have the firmness dialed up.

For a Saatva alternative with sturdy edges and excellent motion isolation, the Saatva Classic delivers on both fronts and there's $400 off all sizes of the Classic today at Saatva.

In general, though, we found the Saatva Solaire to be thoroughly supportive with the added benefit of customized comfort control, and while it's not specifically a cooling mattress, it should be cool enough for most sleepers. In fact, the only real barrier for most people is going to be the price. This is Saatva's most expensive bed, but if you'd rather have something a little easier on your bank balance, we have an alternative for you...
