Tom's Guide Verdict
The Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress is a great option for stomach and back sleepers who sleep hot. The latex layers are organic and non-toxic, resulting in a breathable sleep experience throughout the night. What makes this mattress special is the dual sided firmness – luxury plush on one side and gentle firm on the other. Both sides are slightly firmer than expected, but even so, our reviewer slept deeply. The motion isolation was decent, and the edge support better than we’ve seen on any other latex mattress, making it a solid choice for couples. Although the price tag is high, at least it comes with a lifetime warranty, white glove delivery service, and a one-year trial.

Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress: review in brief
- Dual-sided latex mattress at a premium price
- Comfortable and supportive for back and stomach sleepers
- Great for those who sleep hot
The Saatva Zenhaven Latex Mattress is the second most expensive mattress in the Saatva range (only the Saatva Solaire adjustable mattress is priced higher), however, its stellar reviews indicate it might earn that price tag. But we wanted to know for sure if the Zenhaven is worth the splurge.
While we don’t currently have any dual sided mattresses in our best mattress guide, the luxury innerspring hybrid Saatva Classic is our overall top pick of 2026, meaning this is a brand that knows how to make great beds.
So, we ordered a king-size Zenhaven Latex mattress and slept on it for two weeks, as well as putting it through a series of tests to determine if it performs as well as user reviews suggest. This is what we found.
Best for: medium to firm support, people who sleep hot, health-minded individuals
Type: Latex mattress
Firmness: luxury plush (6.5/10), gentle firm (8/10)
Materials: organic natural latex, organic cotton, organic wool
Depth: 10 inches
Weight: 80-165lbs
Sizes: Twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, Cal king, Split King, Upper-flex king
Dual-sided mattresses are growing in popularity, as they allow customers to choose which firmness suits them on any given night. The Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress is among the most popular dual-sided mattresses, with customers raving over its supportiveness, no matter if you sleep on your stomach, back, or side.
If you prefer more cushioning, you’ll want to flip to the luxury plush side, though admittedly it’s not as plush as the name implies. While your body dips into the mattress, it won’t dip far, allowing stomach and back sleepers the support they need. Depending on your size, you might be able to sleep on your side; but lightweight side sleepers might want a plusher bed.
The gentle firm is more firm than gentle, with a bouncy feel that is, surprisingly, more conducive to motion isolation than the luxury plush side. Additionally, both sides have the best edge support we’ve ever experienced in a latex mattress.
Where the mattress really shines is the temperature neutral sleep it offers. Not only is latex more breathable than memory foam, but the Zenhaven's latex layers are designed with airflow channels, making this latex mattress more breathable than most. Hot sleepers won’t have to worry about sweating or overheating at night.

The luxury price may be a drawback for some, but it reflects the organic, non-toxic materials found in this mattress, as well as a one-year sleep trial, white glove delivery service, and lifetime warranty. Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress: Price & deals
- Saatva's second most expensive mattress
- Premium priced mattress with limited sales
- A queen is priced at $3,499 MSRP
The Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress is the second most expensive mattress that the brand offers (after the Solaire), with prices starting at $2,049 MSRP for a twin.
When at full-price, a queen-size of the Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress will cost you $3,499 MSRP.
While this is premium price-tag territory — Saatva is well-known as a luxury brand that rarely offers significant sales — discounts like 15% off may occur throughout the year. You can keep up to date with current offers using in our Saatva mattress deals page, where we track the brand's sales throughout the year.
However the largest savings can be excepted on special holidays, such as the Memorial Day mattress sales. In fact, in Saatva's current Memorial Day offer you can get $400 off all sizes of the Zenhaven by using our link to save $400 on all luxury mattresses at Saatva.
This reduces the price of a queen down to $3,099, and matches the discount we saw during President's Day sales earlier this year.
Below are prices for the Zenhaven at full MSRP, but keep in mind that these can change at any moment due to a sale.
- Twin: MSRP $2,049
- Twin XL: MSRP $2,299
- Full size: MSRP $3,099
- Queen size: MSRP $3,499
- King size: MSRP $4,099
- Cal King size: MSRP $4,099
- Split King size: MSRP $4,598
- Upper Flex King size: MSRP $4,899
It’s not surprising that an organic latex mattress with double sided firmness would be priced so high, though other brands like essentia and Latex for Less offer similar mattresses on a tighter budget.
The price difference might lie in the fact that all Saatva customers receive a lifetime warranty, a 365-night trial, and free white glove delivery service. Other brands ship their mattresses in a box and provide much shorter trials (100 nights is the industry average.)
If you're determined to save as much as possible on the Zenhaven, look out for the $400 off sale or a 15% discount. The Black Friday mattress sales are always a great time to snap up a Saatva bed, with the Labor Day sales have also seen some surprisingly big discounts from Saatva.

Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress review: Design
The Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress is 10" tall, has six layers and a dual-sided design.
While Saatva concede that this mattress is not 100% organic, it features a variety of organic materials and is eco-INSTITUT and GREENGUARD Gold certified, which means it's non-toxic, free from harmful substances, pollutants and emissions.
A cover made with organic cotton is quilted in the center area for lumbar support and treated with Guardin botanical antimicrobial treatment to protect the mattress from mites, mold, and mildew.
Our mattress testing methodology 1.0 involves a Tom's Guide mattress tester sleeping on the mattress for at least two weeks, and assessing the firmness, support, and pressure relief it provides. We also perform subjective and objective tests to determine the mattress's ability to isolate motion, its edge support and how well it regulates temperature. In addition, we analyze the set-up process and the mattresses durability, scoring it out of 5 in these key performance areas. Plus, we assess other users' experience of the bed.
The next layer of the mattress — certified organic New Zealand wool — is located beneath the organic cotton cover on both sides of the mattress. It has trace amounts of rayon and polyester to ensure long term durability. The wool acts as a natural flame barrier, is naturally antimicrobial, and wicks moisture and heat from your body.
The third layers are natural latex layers (Saatva uses Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS) certified organic natural latex) with five ergonomic zones for lumbar support. The firmness of the latex layers is different for the plush and firm sides, but both exhibit some buoyancy, hypoallergenic elements, and resistance to dust mites, mildew, and mold. Air channels allow for more airflow.
At the very center of the mattress is a durable natural latex support core that aids in long-term durability and support.
Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress review: Comfort and support
- The luxury plush side is a 6.5 out of 10 rating
- The gentle firm side is a 8 out of 10 rating
- Five ergonomic zones for additional support and pressure relief
The Saatva Zenhaven may have five ergonomic zones that provide support, comfort, and pressure relief, but because of the dual firmness, each side feels different.
Let’s start with the gentle firm side. Saatva rates it as a 7-8 on a 10-point mattress firmness scale, and we are inclined to agree, leaning closer toward an 8 rather than a 7.
The surface is bouncy and slightly soft, but the mattress pushes against your weight, which resulted in our reviewer’s body remaining on top of the mattress. This side is firm and supportive, enough so that you can lie comfortably on your back or stomach.
There is no give on the gentle firm side (when we placed a 15lb weight in the center, it dipped only ¼ of an inch) so side sleeping is likely out of the question.
The luxury plush side is far more comfortable and more suited to combination sleepers and/or side sleepers.
It has a plusher feel, and yet it is still supportive around the hips, which means you can sleep on your stomach or back. Although Saatva rates the firmness of the luxury plush side as a 4-5 on the firmness scale, we wholeheartedly disagree.
It’s more like a 6 or 6.5 out of 10. Latex mattresses are firmer than memory foam mattresses, so we would be astonished if a latex mattress without a pillowtop had a 4-5 firmness rating.
Despite their differences in comfort, both sides offer superb support and incredible pressure relief for sleepers. Our reviewer slept deeper and longer on the Saatva Zenhaven than most mattresses she’s tested, especially on the gentle firm side.
Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress review: Performance
- Good motion isolation on the gentle firm side
- Edge support is surprisingly good
- Naturally breathable for a temperature neutral sleep
We tested a king-size Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress for two weeks in the spring in Texas. As part of the review, we share the delivery experience, our take on the mattress’ durability, and run tests to determine the edge support, temperature regulation, and motion isolation.
As a latex mattress that uses organic and non-toxic materials, we’ve no doubt that this mattress will hold up longer than most if customers flip and turn the mattress at least once a quarter. A lifetime warranty is a nice perk too.
Setup
Saatva offers white glove delivery service with every purchase, and because each mattress is made to order, delivery times are generally between 9 and 21 days. Customers will receive a notification the day before delivery. If necessary, you can adjust the date or time.
Our reviewer has tested a handful of Saatva mattresses, and yet this particular delivery experience was the most chaotic of them all. The delivery men had difficulty getting the mattress in the house and pushed the box the mattress was encased in over her historic wood floors, rather than picking it up so it didn’t cause scratches. They also forgot scissors (so they had to borrow hers) and knocked over a few things in the process of putting the mattress on the bed.
While no serious damage was caused, the delivery didn’t reflect the tester’s experience in the past with Saatva’s white glove delivery service or what you expect for a premium mattress.
However, the delivery drivers did move her old mattress from one room to another as part of their free mattress and foundation/box spring removal service.
Score: 4 out of 5
Motion transfer
Testing motion isolation without a partner isn’t easy, however, our reviewer managed to run a few tests to determine the motion isolation capabilities of each side of this dual-sided mattress.
She had a friend get in and out of the bed and change positions on both sides of the mattress. Our reviewer couldn’t feel any motion but wanted to examine this further with an objective test by placing an empty wine glass in the center of the mattress and dropping at 15lb weight 4, 10, and 25 inches away.
When it came to the gentle firm side, the wine glass wobbled but never fell over, no matter the distance. Our reviewer expected the same results with the luxury plush side, however, the wine glass fell over when the dumbbell was dropped 4 inches away.
This leads us to say that the motion isolation is slightly better on the firmer side of the Saatva Zenhaven Latex Mattress. That said, if you prefer the luxury plush side, don’t let this test dissuade you, since motion will likely only be felt if you sleep very near to your partner.
Score: 4.5 out of 5
Temperature regulation
Latex mattresses are known for offering neutral sleep experiences and the Saatva Zenhaven was no different. Our reviewer never overheated or sweated while sleeping on this mattress. Latex doesn’t retain heat like memory foam mattresses do because it’s naturally breathable, and Saatva took the extra step of creating vented airflow channels in the latex layers to ensure even better airflow than normal.
The cover is made with organic cotton, which is one of the most breathable materials on the market. The layer of New Zealand wool also regulates temperature by wicking body heat and moisture from the body.
We tested the mattress with a medium comforter and cotton sheets during the spring in Texas when days ranged from the low 50s to high 80s, and night temperatures dropped to 45-65 degrees. Due to the weather, our tester didn’t need to use her air conditioning and only opted for a fan some nights.
While we like latex mattresses for their natural (and non-toxic) ability to keep your body temperature neutral as you sleep, you may also want to consider one of the best cooling mattresses to discover the latest cooling sleep technology.
Score: 4.5 out of 5
Edge support
Edge support aids in the mattress’ integrity and durability, allows you to sleep near the edge without falling off, and offers support to get in and out of bed.
The Saatva Zenhaven’s edge support was exceptional around the entire perimeter. Our reviewer sat on the edge without dipping too significantly or feeling like they’d slip off. The same could be said when she laid near the edge. It did not matter whether the luxury plush or gentle firm side was face up — the edge support remained the same.
When a 15lb weight was placed on the edge, it sank ¼ of an inch on the gentle firm side and ½ of an inch on the luxury plush side. Our reviewer has tested several latex mattresses, and this edge support may be the best she’s ever experienced, especially considering that the edges are not reinforced.
Score: 4.5 out of 5
Durability
We believe the Saatva Zenhaven is a durable and high-quality mattress that will not break down quickly.
It’s made of latex which is known to last about 15-20 years, which is significantly longer than memory foam mattresses. Unlike other latex mattress we’ve tested, the edges do not bow over or sink into the bed frame. This is likely due to the dual-firmness aspect of the mattress.
No matter if you decide to sleep on the luxury plush or gentle firm side, it will soften over the years. We can’t imagine the gentle firm side breaking down to more than 5 on the firmness scale (over many, many years), considering our reviewer rated it an 8 out of 10. Even the luxury plush side is supportive and doesn’t show any signs of breaking down.
To help this dual sided mattress last longer, flip and rotate the mattress at least four times a year.

Saatva Zenhaven mattress review: user reviews
Customers have given a 4.9 out of five-star rating to the Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress on the brand's site at the time of writing. Saatva does a great job with making their reviews accessible by offering potential customers the chance to search reviews with a search bar or by star rating or popular topic.
This mattress is beloved, if the 340 five-star reviews out of 376 total reviews (as of May 2026) are any indication. Customers rave over the firmness and with many noting how the Zenhaven alleviates back pain and aches, and several even commenting it had been helpful for serious conditions like sciatica and herniated discs. Many commented that they appreciate the mattress can be used on an adjustable bed frame.
When it comes to low-star reviews, the main issue appeared to be with firmness. A common drawback was that the luxury plush side was too firm for some sleepers, especially those who like to sleep on their side. A few customers said it was firmer than what Saatva advertises (however, firmness is subjective.)
There were also a number of customers who were disappointed with the white glove delivery service provided by Saatva, which is unfortunate, considering it contributes to the luxury price tag. However, in the interest of fairness, many people who gave 5-star reviews did praise the white glove delivery service.
Should you buy the Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress?
The Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress is among the best mattress — latex or otherwise — that we’ve tested. This dual sided mattress offers customers two different firmness feels: Flip the mattress one way and you can enjoy a gentle firm surface; flip it the other way and the firmness level is luxury plush.
To be fair, “luxury plush” is a bit of an exaggeration. Rather than the 4/5 out of 10 firmness rating that Saatva claims, we’d rate it a 6.5 on the firmness scale. While your body dips slightly into the surface, it’s still supportive enough to allow for back, stomach, and side sleeping. The gentle firm side is better equipped to stomach and back sleepers.
The mattress is a great choice for hot sleepers as the breathability of the latex foam is unmatched. An cover made with organic cotton, and organic wool layer, and airflow channels in the natural latex layers ensure you’ll sleep cool throughout the night.
While the edge support is one of the best we’ve ever experienced on a latex mattress, the motion isolation isn’t perfect. But if you don’t sleep very close to your partner on either side, it’s unlikely they’ll wake you up when they move positions.
This is a luxury mattress with a high price tag, which makes sense considering it has GOLS, eco-INSTITUT, and GREENGUARD Gold certifications. Not to mention, you get a lifetime warranty, one-year trial, and white glove delivery service. If all that wasn’t enough, our reviewer had some of the best sleep of her life on this mattress and woke up with fewer aches and pains.
Saatva Zenhaven Latex mattress review: Alternatives
Essentia Venti Organic Latex Double Sided Mattress
The Essentia Venti Organic Latex Double Sided Mattress is a dual sided latex mattress that is similarly breathable and non-toxic. It too has a soft side and firm side, however, it lacks the five ergonomic zones that the Zenhaven offers, which makes us think the Essentia Venti could be slightly softer. Unlike the Zenhaven, the Venti is shipped to your door (though you can pay $299 for in-home delivery), comes with a 20-year warranty, and has a 120-night sleep trial.

Latex for Less Natural Latex Mattress 2-Sided (Medium and Firm)
Latex for Less considers itself America’s most affordable organic mattress brand, and the price tag on the Natural Latex Mattress 2-Sided proves this statement right. Customers can choose between a 7- or 9-inch- tall version of this mattress, which makes it shorter than the Zenhaven. According to reviews, the firm and medium sides probably aren’t that much different than what the Zenhaven offers. Others noted the temperature regulation is superb, though a couple felt the mattress was quite heavy. It's also available via Amazon.
PlushBeds The Organic Bliss Pillowtop
Not all side sleepers are fans of the Zenhaven’s firmness levels, which is why we included PlushBeds’ The Organic Bliss Pillowtop. It’s not a dual-sided mattress but it is a latex mattress with a softer, plush medium or medium-firm surface thanks to a three-inch pillowtop layer that’s ideal for side sleepers. Great motion isolation and temperature regulation can also be expected.
