In the case of “Ghost Australia,” we have Eileen (Mandy McElhinney) a 1800s era Irish publican, Gideon (Brent Hill), a former Third Fleet naval officer, Miranda (Ines English), a society darling from the early 1900s, Lindy (Michelle Brasier) a 1980s aerobics instructor, Joon (George Zhao), a Chinese miner killed during the gold rush, and ‘Satan,’ a gruff but sweet biker.
Comedy fans may note that another Britcom successfully translated Stateside had less impact in Oz, with “The Office” recently cancelled after one season, but “Ghosts” promises to hit all the right notes, having already received favourable reviews for its uniquely Aussie take on the franchise.
