Kosovo welcome Turkey to Pristina as they look to secure their first World Cup spot in the country’s history. You can stream the World Cup play-off live and free on RTK1 (Kosovo) / TV8 (Turkey).
Kick-off is at 2:45 p.m. ET / 7:45 p.m. BST / 5:45 a.m. AEDT (Wednesday).
Kosovo are one of the youngest countries to enter World Cup qualifying, having only secured independence from Serbia in 2008 and recognised by FIFA and UEFA since 2016. But they have certainly packed a punch in this campaign.
After finishing second in a tough group, they overcame Slovakia 4-3 in the semi-final, with a late goal from David Strelec making the scoreline look more forgiving for the home side.
Now, they face the biggest game in their history, and the 13,000-seat Fadil Vokrri Stadium is set to be packed to the rafters as they look to take down Turkey.
For the visitors, it will be all about handling the pressure. Turkey haven’t featured in a World Cup since 2002, but their squad now boasts top talent, from Real Madrid’s Arda Güler to captain and Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Çalhanoğlu.
Ay-Yıldızlılar clearly enter as favorites, but a shock from Kosovo certainly cannot be ruled out.
