Why isn't UFC on Paramount Plus in Canada?
TLDR: UFC’s a regional broadcast rights issue, not a technical limitation – and it’s why you need a VPN to watch Paramount Plus from Canada at this time.
Even though Paramount+ has the exclusive rights to stream UFC events in the United States starting in 2026 under a $7.7 billion broadcast deal, that doesn’t automatically apply in Canada. Paramount’s U.S. agreement with UFC/TKO covers U.S. distribution only – it doesn’t overwrite pre-existing media rights in other countries.
In Canada, the UFC’s broadcast and streaming rights are already held by Sportsnet (English) and TVA Sports (French) under a separate long-term contract. Hence why UFC 324 is still a $69.99 pay-per-view event in Canada.
Paramount+ doesn’t currently have the rights to carry UFC numbered events or Fight Nights in Canada. When the Sportsnet deal expires, Paramount Plus will have 'first dibs' on UFC rights. But not in 2026.
