Netflix partners with Spotify to bring video podcasts to the streaming service
Titles like 'The Bill Simmons Podcast' will be available to watch on Netflix starting next year

No more toggling between apps on your smart TV; you'll soon be able to watch your favorite Spotify video podcasts without leaving Netflix, thanks to a newly inked deal between the two tech giants. The collab will kick off in early 2026 in the U.S. (with other markets to follow) with a select number of podcast titles spanning sports commentary, pop culture, true crime and other crowd-pleasing genres.
Among the initial releases coming to the streaming platform are sports-focused programs including "The Bill Simmons Podcast," "The Zach Lowe Show," "The McShay Show" and "The Ringer" franchise (F1, NFL, NBA and Fantasy Football; culture and lifestyle favorites such as "The Rewatchables," "The Big Picture," "The Dave Chang Show" and "The Recipe Club"); and true crime thrillers like "Conspiracy Theories" and "Serial Killers."
Video podcasts have been a particularly lucrative sector, with the number of video podcasts in the top 30 of podcast charts doubling year-over-year since 2022, per data from Sweet Fish Media. These days, podcasts without video struggle to break into the top ranks. Starry, big-name titles such as "New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce," "Good Hang with Amy Poehler," "Baby, This is Keke Palmer" and more are no doubt bringing extra attention to the form.
“At Netflix, we’re always looking for new ways to entertain our members, wherever and however they want to watch,” said Lauren Smith, Netflix VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy. “With video podcasts on the rise, our partnership with Spotify ensures we bring the full video versions of these top shows to Netflix and Spotify. From pop culture and lifestyle to true crime and sports, this curated selection of video podcasts adds fresh voices and new perspectives to Netflix, making our entertainment lineup more exciting than ever.”
“This partnership marks a new chapter for podcasting,” said Roman Wasenmüller, Head of Podcasts at Spotify. “Together with Netflix, we’re expanding discovery, helping creators reach new audiences and giving fans around the world the chance to experience the stories they love and uncover favorites they never expected. This offers more choice to creators and unlocks a completely new distribution opportunity.”
It will be interesting to see which high-profile video podcasts will next be added to Netflix's already sprawling streaming library.
