LG Takes Shots at Samsung's The Frame With New Art Store — Meet LG Gallery+

LG is launching its own art store to combat the growing interest in TV screensavers using well-known paintings and the like.
Called LG Gallery+, the new service takes aim at Samsung's Art Store, allowing you to keep your home display looking fancy and lively with real-world artworks, photographs, and even your own Google Photos.
The storefront will first be made available on LG's 2025 TV lineup, but will roll out to older models as part of LG's ongoing webOS ReNew Program.
LG finally finds its artful footing
Samsung's The Frame first launched back in 2017 and has since corralled a massive following. It blends Art Deco chic with display technology, allowing you to swap out different frames and change art backgrounds, so it looks and feels like you're living in a museum.
These types of art-infused TVs have gained significant popularity. Both Hisense and TCL launched their own versions of the Frame TV, but LG has largely sidestepped this arena. Instead, it has focused on bringing more value OLEDs to the market with its beloved C-series.
Although it's still not launching any dedicated hardware focusing on framed TV murals similar to The Frame and Frame Pro, LG will finally have an answer to Samsung's Art Store with Gallery+. It will include a wide swath of notable art pieces, photographs, and cinematic moments from around the globe.
Such artworks include paintings, like Vincent van Gogh's Wheatfield with Cypresses and Georges Seurat’s Bathers at Asnières, as well as "expansive landscapes" from notable video game franchises, like Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six. More artworks will be added on a monthly basis.

The scariest part for Samsung? LG's offering a free "light" edition. This will allow you to dive into a smaller, curated selection of artworks to get a taste of what Gallery+ has to offer. LG will also be selling a monthly premium subscription tier, netting you access to over 4,000 pieces of art. (LG gave no word on pricing yet.)
You'll be able to test out LG Gallery+ for yourself on all new 2025 models, including the LG G5 OLED and LG C5 OLED TVs. It will soon be rolled out in 150 countries, and older models will get the update as soon as webOS 25 lands on those particular TVs later this year.
