Leicester City have faced a pretty tough first half of the season by their own standards. The side narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification in 20/21, but this year have languished in midtable. They currently sit 10th but have two games in hand on several of the teams above them. Three points here could move them further into the top half of the table and reignite their hopes of European qualification.

The Foxes have been extremely unfortunate with injuries and COVID cases in recent weeks. Over the festive period, they had as many as 12 players out of action, and the situation hasn’t been helped by the further loss of four players to the African Cup of Nations tournament that is currently being played in Cameroon.

The good news is that as many as seven players are expected to return for this match. Patson Daka, Luke Thomas, Caglar Soyuncu and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall all start, while Ayoze Perez, Boubakary Soumare and James Justin are all among the subs. Manager Brendan Rodgers will be delighted to have some additional options once again.

Meanwhile, Spurs are still licking their wounds after being dumped out of the Carabao Cup by London rivals Chelsea last week. The North London team barely put up a fight and were comfortably beaten 3-0 across two legs. Manager Antonio Conte will expect a response here. He just might get one as well: Spurs have yet to taste defeat in the Premier League since the Italian was appointed in early November.

Unfortunately, the side will be without star forward Son Heung-min, who is expected to be sidelined until next month after picking up an injury in the second leg against Chelsea. Son is the side's top scorer this season with eight goals, and he's also provided the most assists as well. His absence will be a huge blow.

Defensive midfielder Eric Dier also misses out due to a muscle problem, and center-back Cristian Romero is a long-term absentee who won't have a part to play here. The side will be boosted by the return of winger Steve Bergwijn, but he's lacking match fitness and is only on the bench.

Here's how they line up:

Leicester City: Schmeichel, Albrighton, Choudhury, Vestergaard, Soyuncu, Tielemans, Dewsbury-Hall, Thomas, Maddison, Lookman, Daka.

Tottenham: Lloris, Royal, Tanganga, Sanchez, Davies, Reguilon, Skipp, Winks, Hojbjerg, Moura, Kane.
