A new year is nearly here and with January 2026 comes a brand-new crop of Hulu streaming premieres and major releases, from returning soapy thrillers and hard-hitting dramas to buzzed-about indie flicks.

Kicking things off after we ring 2026 is the second season of "A Thousand Blows," the bare-knuckle boxing epic from "Peaky Blinders" and "House of Guiness" creator Steven Knight. Arriving just a few days later is the third installment of the pulpy romantic drama "Tell Me Lies," the streaming adaptation of the 2018 novel of the same name by Carola Loverin. And over in the world of movies, one of the year's best black comedies, "Twinless," arrives on the streaming service, led by an award-worthy Dylan O'Brien in dual roles.

After devastating TV fans the world over with their performances in Netflix's "Adolescence" — and each winning a Primetime Emmy in the process — Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty are back in the ring for another round of this boxing-focused British historical drama.

Season 2 picks up a year after the events of last season, with Hezekiah Moscow (Malachi Kirby) officially "a shadow of the man he once was," while Graham's Sugar Goodson is "estranged from his family and drinking himself to death," per the official logline. Just as Wapping is about to sigh its last breath, Mary Carr (Doherty) bursts back into town with her loyal second, Alice Diamond (Darci Shaw), to reassemble her Forty Elephants gang and reclaim her crown. "As always, Mary has a plan; one which will involve all those she holds dearest. And this time it’s riskier than ever.”

The will they/won't they, oh-god-please-don't tension between Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) continues in the third season of the romantic drama "Tell Me Lies," catching up with the couple as they've rekindled their tumultuous romance just in time for spring semester at Baird College.

And while both promise that things will definitely be different this time around, "past indiscretions hinder their best intentions, and Lucy finds herself embroiled in a controversy she wants nothing to do with," reads the season synopsis. "Meanwhile, the disastrous repercussions from the previous year also force Lucy and Stephen’s friends to face their own destructive behaviors. As scandalous secrets fester around campus, vicious consequences threaten Lucy and everyone in her circle."

After premiering at Sundance in January (where it won the Audience Award) and hitting theaters stateside this September, the acclaimed dark dramedy "Twinless" makes its streaming premiere on Hulu this month. In the James Sweeney-directed flick, two young men — Roman (Dylan O'Brien) and Dennis (James Sweeney) — meet in a twin support group and form an unlikely and inseparable friendship.

"But when Roman meets Dennis’ ebullient co-worker, Marcie (Aisling Franciosi), all is revealed to be not what it seems, as each man harbors secrets that could unravel everything," reads the film's official description.

The black comedy has already been a hit with critics — it has an excellent 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, where the pros praise: "James Sweeney's sophomore outing reveals a twisty, grief-ridden journey of the unexpected – buoyed by a perfectly sensitive Dylan O'Brien."
