Surfshark warns "don't buy our VPN yet" days before Black Friday

In an industry as ripe for scandal and tarnished reputations as cybersecurity, when I saw an email titled "DON'T buy our VPN" from Surfshark, my heart skipped a beat. As one my select best VPNs, and one of the few providers with a truly spotless track record, I was worried that I'd need to do a lot of rewriting of our Surfshark review.

Thankfully though, it wasn't bad news. Quite the opposite. This was Surfshark's way of alerting every person on its mailing list that between November 19 and November 23, it's dropping its price to the lowest it has ever been: $1.69 per month. No biggie, then.

Although unorthodox – in my experience, big brands generally drop the best Black Friday VPN deals on the day, or a week or so before – this is unmissable. What's more, if you already subscribe to Surfshark, you can "stack" this deal onto an active subscription, no new email address needed.

Now: $1.69 per month at Surfshark
This deal isn't live yet, but put November 19 in your diary. For four glorious days, Surfshark will be cheaper than it has ever been.

What you get:

📱 Unlimited installs and data
🔐 Rock-solid privacy + security
🚀 Great speeds + streaming unblocking

This deal works out at $49 all-in for 29 months of cover. We often see VPN companies tack a couple of "free" months on a two-year plan and call it a day, but this deal both gives you more months of cover and a lower overall price than normal. Put bluntly, it's the best Surfshark deal I've ever seen. Don't miss out.

Is this Surfshark deal worth buying?

This is the best deal I've ever seen from Surfshark, so unless you're dead-set on going with a different VPN brand, the answer is a resounding "yes."

Surfshark sits at second-place in my overall ranking of VPNs, just behind NordVPN. NordVPN has a few more features, and is better suited to more experienced VPN users, but Surfshark is very powerful, and in my opinion, more pleasant to use day-to-day.

It's great for unblocking global streaming sites, provides reliably fast connections, and has apps for all common devices – including Apple TV VPN and Fire Stick VPN apps. All these apps are very accessible too, so they're great if you've never used a VPN before.

As I mentioned above, this deal can also be "stacked" onto an existing subscription. For example, if you're already a Surfshark subscriber but you have 11 months left on your subscription, that's not a problem. You can purchase this at the discount rate and add it on – simply enter all the same information that you used to originally sign up when you check out.

I'm loathe to fall for Surfshark's time-pressure marketing tactics, but this is genuinely only available November 19-23. If you want to get this price, you need to sign up during this time period. To get almost two-and-a-half years of premium VPN coverage for $49, though, I think it's worth it.

Check out the deal in detail on Surfshark's website.
