I thought my nighttime routine was pretty solid, until I was gifted the NEOM Wellbeing Pod (available for $100 at NEOM) last Christmas and bed time seriously levelled up.

It's no secret that I'm a NEOM super-fan. My bedroom is stacked with the brand's candles, pillow mists and body balms. So you can imagine my excitement when I was gifted the Wellbeing Pod (bravo, Santa).

The essential oil diffuser I've been using

I'm always looking for ways to turn my bedroom into a sleep-inducing hotel suite with minimal effort, and the NEOM oil diffuser with the Perfect Night's Sleep blend has been an invaluable addition.

Most nights, I tuck my phone away early, turn on my diffuser and read in bed, enjoying a herbal tea before nodding off within minutes.

The essential oil diffuser I've been using is the limited-edition Clementine Wellbeing Pod Essential Oil Diffuser. This means my essential oil diffuser is complete with a gorgeous pink, tortoise-shell-patterned bell jar, which looks the perfect blend of chic and girly at my bedside.

As standard, the Wellbeing Pod comes with a warm white ceramic cover (pictured above). Alternatively, you can now shop the limited-edition Raspberry Ripple or Cinnamon Swirl Pods — both of which sound bliss.

My small bedroom can sometimes feel stuffy, but I find the mist helps give it a fresh feel, creating a more relaxing atmosphere around bedtime. I can certainly see why NEOM is frequented by celebrity shoppers, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Scherzinger.

And it's simple to use. You simply fill it with water and five drops of your essential oil of choice. The 'Perfect Night Sleep' blend I've been using combines lavender, chamomile and patchouli — scent notes conducive to sleep.

The diffuser also acts as a dimmable night light and has timer settings with the option to continuously mist or run for one, two, three or four hours. Light and misting settings can be controlled via touch-sensitive buttons.

It's hard to say whether the Perfect Night's Sleep blend really has given me a perfect night's sleep (is there even such a thing?). But what I can say is I've been getting consistently high sleep scores, according to my trusty sleep tracker.

How essential oils can help you sleep in spring

Spring is here and while the longer, warmer days are very welcome, if you're anything like me, you're probably apprehensive about the return of allergies, which can steal sleep.

Window closed, I'm too hot. Window open, I'm sniffling through the night. But the good news is, essential oils can be used to manage allergies and hayfever and promote better sleep, according to Healthline.

Certain oils — namely, lavender, eucalyptus, tea tree and peppermint — can help manage allergy symptoms overnight because they act as natural anti-inflammatories, decongestants, and antihistamines.

Healthline concludes "aromatherapy can be a fun way to help alleviate your seasonal allergy symptoms," and there are various scientific papers to prove it.

For example, a 2025 study by Chinese researchers found eucalyptus citriodora essential oil (found in NEOM's $24 Bedtime Hero Essential Oil Blend, if you're wondering) has strong potential to be used as a natural alternative to synthetic pesticides for dust mite control. Dust mites are a common cause of allergies, especially in the bedroom.
