The Cocoon by Sealy Chill Mattress has shot up in price — so these are the 2 cooling beds I'd shop instead
Looking for a cooling mattress that's under $1,000? We've got you covered

What was once our favorite cooling mattress in the budget category, the Cocoon by Sealy Chill, has just had a major price increase, kicking it out of the price bracket we consider 'affordable' in the grand scheme of mattresses.
The foam bed, infused with specialist cooling technology, has risen from just $599 in a queen size to $919. Yes, mattress MSRPs often shift, but that's one of the biggest jumps we've ever seen on any of the best mattresses.
What's caused the hike? Though we can't be absolutely certain, our spidey-mattress-senses (our team has tracked mattress sales and prices for over 20 years collectively) make us suspect that it's tariff-related, potentially signaling the start of soaring prices in the industry.
But not to worry just yet, because we've called upon our testing panel for recommendations and scoured the early Black Friday mattress sales to bring you two of the best cooling mattress deals to shop right now...

Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress: twin was $932 now $699 at Brooklyn Bedding
Blown away by how luxury the affordable Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress felt during my testing period, I'm always quick to recommend it to hot sleepers and those looking for a luxury feel on a budget. Its GlacioTex cover forms one of the coolest mattress surfaces I've ever felt and the pressure relief is outstanding. Brooklyn Bedding mattress sales have consistently knocked money off this bed since its release in November 2024. After a 25% discount, a queen size CopperFlex Pro Hybrid is $999 (MSRP $1,332). But if you want the best possible price, waiting for Black Friday could score you 30% off or more.
Glacier Original mattress: twin was $998 now $499 at Glacier
The 12" Glacier Original hybrid mattress offers exceptional value for money. I slept on a full size of this mattress in a stuffy attic bedroom this summer, and am pleased to report my sleep stayed on track, thanks to its great cooling power. Those cool-to-touch fibers in the mattress cover really do work. The Original comes complete with Glacier's key cooling and supportive features but sells at a fraction of the price of the more premium Summit and Apex models. A queen is now $799 after 50% off (was $1,598). We have seen it drop to $719 during major sales, though, so you may want to wait until Black Friday to bag that extra bit of money off. You get a lifetime warranty, free shipping and one year to decide whether this is truly the bed for you.

Still want the Cocoon by Sealy Chill?
Cocoon by Sealy Chill: twin from $539 at Cocoon By Sealy
If your heart is set on the Cocoon by Sealy Chill mattress (we can't blame you, it is a great mattress offering deep pressure relief, reliable temperature regulation and epic motion absorption so you won't feel your partner moving next to you) you can still get a queen size for $919. Yes, it's more expensive than before, and a twin is now not far off what a queen used to cost, but it's still a lot cheaper than other luxury cooling beds. Unfortunately, along with the price hike, Cocoon by Sealy's regular mattress deal throwing in $179-worth of free bedding seems to be a thing of the past, too. But you do at least get free shipping, a 10-year warranty and 100-night trial to decide if it's the right fit for you.
