Pressure relief and cushioning at the hips and shoulders are important in a side sleeper mattress. You'll find plenty of both in the Tempur-Cloud mattress, down to $1,998.90 (from $2,998) for a queen and coupled with a Power Base at Tempur-Pedic in the brand's flash Memorial Day sale.

The Tempur-Cloud is a great mattress for side sleepers thanks to its unique Tempur-material: an advanced memory foam originally developed by NASA. It delivers sink-in a high level of comfort and pressure relief that's especially good at relieving hip and back pain while you sleep.

The Tempur-Pedic Ease Power Base helps you rest in a Zero Gravity position that closely simulates weightlessness, reducing pressure on your joints. Here's a closer look at the deal and how it compares to the best Memorial Day mattress sales we've seen on this year's best mattresses...

Is the Tempur-Cloud right for you?

The big draw of the Tempur-Cloud is its sink-in comfort that beats what you'll get from most of the best mattresses we've tested.

Its Tempur-Material is incredibly contouring, and our tester found that when you lie on this mattress, you'll sink straight into it, like quicksand. If you enjoy a memory foam 'hug' you're going to get a lot of this here, and it's not surprising that the Tempur-Cloud aced our motion isolation tests too, making this mattress a good choice for anyone easily disturbed by a partner's movements.

However, the Tempur-Cloud's deep contouring feel isn't going to be for everyone. Our tester noted that once you've sunk into it, it's hard to move around and roll from back to side to stomach, so if you're a combination sleeper who changes position a lot in the night, you'll find the Tempur-Cloud really restrictive.

It's also not a great option for anyone who sleeps hot. Memory foam is notorious for its heat-trapping qualities, and we found that the Tempur-Cloud's foams left some of our testers waking up feeling warm, even though the mattresses was situated in a cooler basement bedroom when outside temperatures were between 30 and 60 degrees.

Overall, then, if you're a dedicated side sleeper who loves the feel of memory foam and doesn't sleep hot, this Tempur-Cloud deal could be for you (although bear in mind that you'll only get a 90-night trial; good but far from the best).

But if you'd prefer a mattress with a less restrictive feel and better cooling abilities, and that you can get with an adjustable base for significantly less money, read on...

Nectar Premier Adjustable Base and Mattress Set (twin XL)
Nectar Premier Adjustable Base and Mattress Set (twin XL): $1,248 at Nectar Sleep

We rate the Nectar Premier Memory Foam as the best memory foam mattress on the market in 2026, and it's an excellent fit for side sleepers. You'll get a memory foam 'hug' that provides great pressure relief, but it's much easier to move about on than the Tempur-Cloud, with vastly better temperature regulation. Throw in a Premier Adjustable Base, and you'll get head and foot elevation plus soothing massage, and in a queen size, you'll pay $1,398 for the whole lot, with a bedding bundle included as well as a 365-night trial and forever warranty.
