The old saying "Love thy neighbor" will be thrown out of the window when Norton brings together an eclectic mix of contestants to live on the same street and compete against one another across 11 episodes in this reality TV show. Winning challenges is important, but so too is avoiding being voted off the show. With £250,000 on offer, everyone will be treading that delicate balance very carefully.

Think "Big Brother" meets "The Traitors" and you're on the right lines with what to expect from "The Neighbourhood". There'll be no celebrity egos here, and there's no denying there's something really intriguing about seeing normal people being thrust into competitive environments like this.

"The Neighbourhood" - FAQ

Is "The Neighbourhood" a live reality TV show?

No, "The Neighbourhood" was filmed last summer across a three-week period. What you see on-screen will be condensed and edited, and there will be no live participation from viewers at home. Instead, it will be down to contestants to vote one another off the show.

Will there be a second season of "The Neighbourhood"?

There is no official plan for a second season of "The Neighbours" right now, but ITV bosses are optimistic there will be more to come in the future.

Ed Daggett, development executive at Lifted Entertainment (the studio behind the show), hopes for "The Neighbourhood" to rival "The Traitors" eventually.

He said: "'The Traitors' has been absolutely phenomenal in terms of the way it's attracted reality fans and people who may not normally come to reality shows. Of course, we would want to come close to that sort of success.

"If series one goes well, we will definitely see the show happening with celebrity families – that's the dream. I would love the Dyers."

What has Graham Norton said about "The Neighbours"?

Speaking about the show ahead of release, Norton said: "Like everyone, I’m always intrigued by what goes on behind closed doors. Add to that some dastardly challenges and a life changing prize and I’m hooked."

On the unique appeal of this show, he added: "We can all relate because unless you’re very, very rich you probably have neighbours! We all — even if you don’t necessarily want to — you get drawn into those everyday dramas... What the show does is really amp those moments up, and dramatizes them even more.

"There’s the gameplay but because they’re there all the time there’s the reality that these people really are living next door to each other and watching each other like hawks and like any good neighborhood, you want your way but you want to keep everyone sweet and that’s the skill!"
