What Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn lack in direct comparison with their legendary fathers they made up for with front-foot aggression and a deep-rooted yearning to live up to their family names. They took the center of the ring and let fly in a firefight of a first bout in April, which Benn shaded before Eubank seized control in the championship rounds, leaving Benn in a bind for the rematch.

As the smaller, younger fighter, Benn's best hope lies in the high-risk, high-reward maneuver of setting a furious pace, and either going for an early knockout or biding his time in hope that "Next Gen" eventually runs out of steam. He went with the first option seven months ago, only for it to backfire.

Because he wasn't quite able to muster the power to send Eubank crashing to the canvas, it was Benn who ended the first fight running on fumes. It went the distance with the judges scoring it unanimously in Eubank's favor. Crucially, he won the 11th and 12th outright, while the judges were split on the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th rounds.

Despite Eubank making a meal of the rehydration clause, he also landed more punches (367 to 215) and more power punches (227 to 180), and had the superior landing percentage (40% to 36%).

You can always count on Eddie Hearn to milk a cash-cow dry, so at 36 years old Eubank needs to win to kill off any talk of a trilogy, and get back to challenging for titles. At 29, "The Destroyer" theoretically still has years ahead of him, but this could be his final opportunity to get points in the Benn column of this generational grudge match.

Eubank vs Benn 2 fight card

Southpaw Jack Catterall (31-2) needs to deliver a statement at the end of what's been an immensely frustrating year. A split-decision defeat in a WBO interim title fight was followed by a technical-decision victory on his welterweight debut, and he's since switched trainers. At 36, Ekow Essuman (22-1) should be past his peak, but he seems to be getting better with age.

British super-lightweight prospect Adam Azim (13-0) is coming off four straight victories by knockout, and looking to put on a show at arguably the biggest event he's been a part of. Bad blood has been brewing all week, as the American Kurt Scoby (18-1) has been using his superhuman frame to try to intimidate his opponent. Azim, however, has his mind set on landing bigger fish next year.

Elsewhere, former cruiserweight contender Richard Riakporhe steps up to heavyweight, and Sam Gilley (18-1-1) and Ishmael Davis (14-3) face off for the British and Commonwealth light-middleweight titles.
