IKEA announces new collection that transforms lighting and speakers into colorful statement pieces
IKEA’s new lineup features stylish Bluetooth lamps and hidden speakers
Gone are the days when you’ll want to hide 'eyesore', boring-looking speakers in your home.
IKEA and Teklan have collaborated to announce a new line of upgraded Bluetooth speakers that will certainly turn heads. These colorful speakers are designed to seamlessly integrate high-quality sound with stylish aesthetics, to add visual interest.
“Color is such an emotional and powerful tool — it can completely change how we see an object and shape the atmosphere of a room,” states Teklan. “We wanted to bring that softness and friendliness into technology, to help people see home electronics differently and invite more color into their everyday spaces.”
So what’s new in the lineup? It features three round Bluetooth speakers, lamp speakers, and an upgrade to its popular FADO lamp. All of which are designed in vibrant colorways and eye-catching geometric patterns. What’s more, all speakers connect to each other, and with other compatible IKEA Bluetooth speakers for a multi-speaker mode.
The new collection will launch in December, making it just in time for festive celebrations.
KULGLASS lamp speakers
If you want to integrate (or disguise) your speaker with your lighting scheme, the KULGLASS includes two lamp speakers. These are available in the soft pallet of shades of green or red-brown with pink.
Not only do these lamps effectively merge light, sound, and color all in one clever product, but it looks great too. I particularly like the lamp's swirl-shaped shade, which is reminiscent of an ice-cream swirl.

“I wanted this inviting shape to contrast the technical complexity we usually associate with high-quality sound,” says Teklan. “While the inside is advanced, the outside feels warm, open, and easy to understand. For the colors, I was chasing a soothing feeling from the past."
SOLSKYDD round Bluetooth speakers
Perhaps my favorite in the collection, these round speakers will blend in effortlessly with any interior style. This lineup features three varying sizes and colors, including a small portable model, a medium-sized one, and a large model designed for wall mounting. Plus, the trio is brought to life with striking geometric patterns in a bold orange or green colorway.
I particularly like how unique these speakers are, and they will certainly add a bold decorative feature to any room. The best thing is, nobody will even know what this circular gadget is!
In addition, all speakers connect with each other and support Spotify Tap, so you can even opt for a different size in each room of your choice. Ideal for listening to your favorite playlists around the home.
When can you buy the new IKEA speakers?
The IKEA TEKLAN collaboration will launch in December, rolling out in certain markets. Be sure to watch this space for more updates and pricing info as soon as they come in. I certainly can't wait to try these out myself.
