New leak suggests Apple could make a crossbody strap for the iPhone 17 — here's what we know

Apple's "Awe-dropping" event is officially right around the corner. Before we know it, everything about the iPhone 17, AirPods Pro 3, and whatever else Apple has up its sleeve will be known.
This will likely include new accessories, such as the company's refreshed cases. To go along with those, Apple is expected to reveal a new crossbody strap for the iPhone 17, and a new leak has shown off the strap in full.
Leaker Sonny Dickson shared images on X, showcasing Apple's new accessory. As you might expect from the name, it's a strap that hooks to the iPhone. Other leaks have suggested it'll be compatible with the new TechWoven cases. At the end of the day, it's an iPhone lanyard, which will be exciting for some iPhone 17 buyers who want to turn their phone into a more accessory-like item.
We've seen the back of the box for Apple's new cases, and the image shows two lanyard holes. There are arrows explaining that the user should loop the “Crossbody Strap” through them. The leaked image appears to function as described in the previous leaks, lending further credence to the accuracy of this rumor.
I'm not the target demographic for this particular accessory, that's for certain. I see a phone lanyard and have a hard time imagining how I would use it, but I'm sure there are plenty of iPhone 17 buyers who might be interested in a lanyard for their phone (I have to assume Apple wouldn't make it if people weren't asking for it).
